Can anybody let me know if whether its a sham or not please write back ?
- Wire replies to MohammedYes Mohammed, it is a Sham.
- JD replies to Ruby| 1 replyThis week we received a phone call from Swartz Law Offices in Washington DC. We apparently won
$250,000 from the American Shoppers Networks. The woman I spoke with was Cheryl Young, a lawyer with the firm. I checked the website for the law office. It looks plausible although no phone number was found on the site only an email address. After a few hours of research I found that the
Better Business Bureau has an alert on the American Shoppers Network, they are no longer in business, phone disconnected and all mail from BBB was returned. The law office sent me an email with a letter from the Bank of America, verifying the winnings and signed by
Selma Waid at the the DuPont BOA location. Thanks for the previous blog because this so called law office wanted $680.00 to release the check to us. I am calling that bank and reporting them today I am also going to to call "Cheryl Young" and mess with her for a while too. - Hogster| 1 replyGot three calls from these people. First they called my home # and spoke to my son telling him I won some money. He got me the # they called from off the caller ID. I called that # 1-423-475-7675, which is listed in an earlier post on this site, and tried to call it back. I got the message that the person at the MagicJack # I called was unavailable. I told my son that if they called back to give them my cell #. That was last week. They call today (my cell phone) and claimed that I used my credit card at Walmart which is how I got entered into the drawing. This sounded like a scam so while i have "Rachel" on the phone I Google them and here I am. I told "Rachel" that I would call her back.
If it sounds too good to be true...... - Hogster replies to HogsterI double checked. That (423) number was used in April 2011. "Rachel" said she was calling from Texas but 423 is a Knoxville, Tennessee area code.
- JG| 2 repliesOh yes, we know these SOB. My husband has dementia and he with drew the $350 in a Malmart card and gave them the number by way of email. So we are out of the $. That is miner compared to the $4,000 we lost last year. These people are vicious and relentless. We have been to the FBI and of course they said it was a scam. Next I will call the Better Business Bureau.
- not Michael replies to JGTake your husband's name off the joint bank account. And please, please, please put the car keys where he can't get them.
- balderdashI received phone calls from this number and 876-550-3292 and 876-284-8408 and was told that we had won $2.5 million , we just had to pay the "processing" fee of $375.00 and I told them I was not interested and they asked what charity I wanted the money to go to. The one call was from a cell phone and the man said his name was Mr Hoodley. How do they get so much information and how can we shut them down?? If you have caller ID at the end of the phone number it had the intials JM which I assume means Jamaica.

- mary viceI got a call from "bank of America" saying I won 2.5 million ,I just had to pay 599.00 to transfer the funds, when I look up the number it says "private number". Last time I checked, boa doesn't have private numbers, and oddly although I spoke to three different people, they all had the same accent's how stupid do they think ppl are?
- rosie replies to LD in Nor CalI received a letter with a check for 2480.00, i am supposed to cash it and send them the non resident fee of 1900.00 and then i will receive my prize of 127,520.00, which is the balance of the 130,000.00 I won. Can you believe this?
- Sally| 1 replyNot my real name, some of you can understand why. My friend has received over 100 calls in the past few days. She has won so much money that Warren Buffet and Donald Trump are advising her to send the deposit. Just think if the scum scammers had a real job and put as much effort into it, they would receive employee for the decade. Yes we made a call back and yes it was in Jamica. I told her to ask the guy how the weather was in Jamica? He hung up. When I tried to talk to them, they hung up. Our local police in Montana called the number and it was in Jamica, he hung up

If you request that they not call you and they continue to call you, it's against the law, they could get fined, only if we knew where to find them.
