If you have an existing Gmail account, you should be able to sign up for Google Voice without creating a separate account or password. When I sign into Gmail, I simply open a new tab and open Google Voice.
Google Voice is free to use, except if you are making calls to numbers outside of the United States.
You are able to mark certain numbers as spam and those numbers go straight to voicemail.
You may also block numbers and those calls will get a message saying that the number is not in service.
You may also connect the GV number to your home and cellular phone.
You have the option of setting up a schedule of when your calls to go directly to voicemail.
