265 was all the ID said this time have had many different numbers though lately has been all zeros all India type heavy accents but very American names.  I am sick of it and would like to do something to find them and deport them.  It makes me angry that they come to our country and then do this, send them back where they came from.  I have tried reverse phone look up and traced one all the way to the phone company and reported it there.  I have tried everything I can think of even told them i knew where they were and the law was coming for them so they better pack there bags and go back where they came from.  I have told them I would use every resource I have to find them and make sure they are prosecuted.  I am sick of it and want something to be done.  Where so go or what do I do?

877-350-2087 is one of the newer numbers they are using for the fake pay day loan scam.
I have a message on my answering machine, telling me they are coming to my home no later than Friday with a legal affidavit.
I was told to pay up or legal problems will unfold.
These people are clearly criminals and its kinda scary having to deal with these monkeys calling my home repeatedly.
There is no sense in reporting this to the FTC, they never do anything. Its a waist of time, they have no plans of protecting consumers. I honestly do not know why they even bother taking data.
I have seen complaints dating back from 2009. It's apparent no one is stopping them. You are on your own.

I think the next time these people call, I am going to act stupid and say I want to pay this in full.
But, I am going to say I do not have a account, debit, or credit card.
I am going to tell them I want to send them a money order, but I need a address to send it. If I get that out of them, I will post it here.

I been getting calls from this number saying that there are charges being pressed about me regarding a loan that I never even took. A week ago they asked for $298.00 and then today he asks for $350.00. Now if I would have taken out a loan, it woulda been more than 200 or 300 dollars. First the guy said his name was Victor Johnson, then Micheal Brown, but when I called back, some guy said that there was no one there by that name. He keeps telling me that if I dont resolve this matter then I would go to jail. The numbers that he called me from was 1-585-200-5553 and a week ago, he called from 1-607-699-9219. I know I didnt receive a loan but he keeps saying that I did. Now Im pretty sure that if this 200 or 300 dollars was deposited into my account, I would have saw it being that I check my account everyday. And when I asked him to send me some documentation stating that there is a case against me, he said that if he does that then I will have to sit behind bars. Is this a scam? I didnt receive any money from these people I know this. I also threatened that I would have an officer contact them and that I should press charges against them for impersonating an officer.

    Hello!

I started receiving calls from these people today; I checked into a payday loan last week to get my family out of a jam, but did not take it in the end.

These people are now calling me and saying that I owe money to a law firm and that I will be arrested on fraudulent charges.  They have my address and the last four of my social, cell phone, and probably bank account number.  They started yelling at me and told me that the police would be at my house soon--I told them "GREAT, send them."  I called the police shortly after our call (which he told me that he was recording) ended and they told me to disregard his calls; it is not a crime to have bad credit!  The phone numbers are as follows:

    714-441-8691 (Orange County, CA)
    25-430-183-4093
    212-404-452-128

It was just as the people in these other posts described, a man with a Middle Eastern/Indian accent.  Thanks so much to everyone who posted; I feel much better knowing that I am not the only one who is having this trouble.  I may check into changing my phone number in the near future.  I have already called the bank and put a freeze on my account, just in case.  I told them that I did not want any money going into my account-- or going out of it.

I have taken payday loans in the past from a company called FlexCheck--it was a reputable company that I had favorable dealings with, but was forced into shutdown by our new state laws.  I don't believe that I will be doing anymore payday loans--I am just hoping that this nightmare will soon end.  My nine year old daughter reminded me that you should never, ever post personal info online...I always joked that if someone stole my identity they would surely give it back.  Maybe that's why this guy is so mad and yelling--finding my bank account info was pretty much like finding an empty wallet!  Good luck in getting rid of this guy!

There should be a way to report annoying calls to the police department in your state; there are laws against harassment.  The police were willing to come out to my house this afternoon, but told me that it would be reported in the local police log in our paper.  They told me that as long as I knew that I was in good standing with the law, not to worry--they could tell just by the fact that I called that we were on good terms.  I also have a job with the state (where clearances are required) and know that I am a good citizen--these people probably don't have work visas or green cards and are here illegally.  I am not being a racist, either--my mother came here from Thailand in the '70's and she had to work for her citizenship.

My plans are to try and keep my phone number.  If the calls don't stop by the end of the month, I will be changing it.  These people are very irate and seem to like to yell a lot.  I think that they are enjoying my response; since reading all of these other posts, I see that there is nothing that they can really do (without proof, like one of the other people posted).  I plan on disregarding these calls and relying heavily on my caller ID.

If it will make you feel better, call the police.  They were very sympathetic to my problems and talked to me on the phone to resolve the issues and make me feel better.  After reading these posts, I am aware that all we are dealing with is a bunch of clowns!  Good Luck to you!

This company is called Barnes Givensky & Associates.  I believe they exist but there practices are illegal and unethical. I paid $346 in march this year for a payday loan i took out in 2008.  Last week i got another call from 877 206 8031 DON JONES asking for another $410.  Very nasty and belligerent and threatening.  They were informed not to call my desk any more and i requested proof of further debt, stating that if the debt is legitimate i will pay but i need proof. Long story short, he kept calling and refusing to send me proof so i wrote a letter last night (template from the FTC website) which he completely ignored, calling me 6 times today, 3 on my desk and 3 on my cell, shouting and still threatening me.  I filed a complaint with the FTC in Atlanta today and the website said they may have enough to warrant law enforcement involvement. HERE IS BARNES GIVENSKY FAX NUMBER IN CASE YOU WANT TO START THE PROCESS TO MAKE THEM TREAT YOU FAIRLY.  YOU MUST ALSO SEND IT TO THEM - CERTIFIED IS BEST.  FAX IS 877-206- 8032.  Also he will call from this number:  678-819-4971.  And i still dont know if its a scam or not lol

I wrote a letter to my State Attorney General's office they are aware of this scam, it has spread across the states, the web site I was given is  www.IC3.gov, Internet Crime Complaint Center, this has a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collor Crime Center, they also said do not answer out of state calls and delete msg's, hope this helps.  I was told thru local police agencies are working on this matter.

Finally here is some info i  want to share with everyone that i copied from the FTC's website:

    What Are My Rights?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair
Debt Collection Practices Act, which requires that debt collectors treat you fairly when trying to col-
lect on personal, family and household debts. This includes money you owe on a personal credit card account, an auto loan, a medical bill or your mortgage.
    In short:
A debt collector may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram or fax, but may not con-
tact you at inconvenient times or places—for example, before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m.—unless you agree. A debt collector may not contact you at work if the collector is aware that your employer prohibits it.
Debt collectors must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you
owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice must also include the name of the credi-
tor to whom you owe the money and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.
Debt collectors may not harass, oppress or abuse you or any third parties they contact
    about you.
A debt collector may not lie or mislead anyone when collecting a debt. For example, a debt collector
may not threaten to have you arrested.

    Where Do I Report Violations?

If you think that a debt collector has violated the law, report it to the FTC. File your complaint at
www.ftc.gov/complaint. Your complaint gives law enforcement a lead to follow up on and may stop
it from happening to someone else.
