Yesterday sir from area code (619) in California that I was pleasant and kind to said for me to not talk and you said it over 50 times over and over and over yelling at me. I was trying to tell you that I was putting your number on the DNC list of the company I work for here in Portland. But you yelled at me for 5 minutes saying Do not talk. How in the hell can I do anything if you are not going to let me talk and say that I have no rights. I just went back to work mean sir after being out of work 27 months when the Research companies I had worked for since early 2006 both outsourced and moved elsewhere leaving 200-250 without jobs. Most of my co workers lost their apartments and everything and had to move elsewhere because they could not find work here. We communicate over the facebook. We have a REAL jobless rate of 45% at least. So much outsourcing here is going on there are less than 20 call centers left. So sir stick it and have a heart.

Telemarketers are a pain in my ***! replies to Patricia Kelley
Ok so you have a job to do...fine, but when you are told to not call back....LISTEN!!!!
I dont understand your logic of your continuous blogging about your day in the call center and some customer yells at you to take them off your internal call list. So your logic is to not take them off to "stick it" to them but arent you "sticking it to yourself by calling them again day after day and them yelling in your ear!! Which in turn makes you want to write another blog. And somehow we are suppose to cheer you on and say go girl!!! NO!! No one cares if your job rate is 45% the real problem here is you took this "job" and you should ALREADY know that you are goign to get someone like this daily! What you seem to not understand we are bombarded with constant calls from telemarketers and scammers on a daily basis so we really dont care if you took this job to pay bills. Stop calling us if we dont want it. Its our phone that we pay for not YOU!! If somehow you feel better not taking us off then feel the wrath of someone cussing you out or yelling at you the next time you call.

I don't see any point for the telemarketers to keep calling....especially when they are told not to call and there is no interest in any of their sales...(whatever they sell) why keep on calling>>>>>
In case you people want to know I have an Accounting Degree (4) year. My ride came and I only typed the first thing that came to my mind. in this forum. I am sure that society does not want to pay my bills. If I do not work then I have to file bankruptcy and then you have to pay my $6000.00 of credit cards in higher banking fees and higher interest and other fees. Plus you would have to pay for my food and my housing and the fact if I do not work I pay no income tax. I know how things work in the system. So not working is supposed to be a good thing. I use this forum as a way to put up with the jerks like the two I had today on 11/23/2011 from the (203) area code. which is a Wed and NOT thanksgiving and they said today was Thanksgiving and lied about it and said it was rude to call on Wed thanksgiving day. Of course they said it real fast and let me say nothing like standardy like they do. Telemarketing is hard work and you spend many hours thinking of rebuttles to say and it is not an easy job and stupid people do not work it. I have known many people with 4 year degrees that are doing it because they do not want to be homeless in Portland and should not have to. II work for one company and not the 20 that you say call you.Sure you pay for your phone but I am not telling you to have a phone and I know two people that live here that do not have one and do not have the frustration as the people that use this forum do. I have been doing this a long time and know the abuse but I work for one company and not every company that calls people.
What do you expect??? Do you expect people to praise you for interrupting their day. Times are tough every where nobody in their right mind will feel sorry for you!! Is that what your looking for on here sympathy?? What did you expect working as a telemarketer? Personally I don't have the time of the day for any body trying to sell/enroll me into anything over the phone. If I wanted their product I would contact them. People are going to be rude and mean its in human nature thats something you have to get used to. Coming on this site to vent about your bad day does no good at all its probly going to make your bad day even worse. Most people on this site hate telemarketers. Bottom line if someone DOESNT WANT BOTHERED BY YOUR CALL THATS THIER RIGHT. You need to understand that most people become hostile after being called multiple times by they same damn company/telemarketer that is natural. Wouldn't you if a company calls and calls even when you told them you don't Want their services. For some one with a degree you don't sound very smart/lodgical! Are they handing them degrees out like candy now??

If you're asked to not call back and you do, it's against the law.
Anytime I talk to a telemarketer, the call is recorded. I ask politely to be removed from the list and to not call back. I keep careful record of this. Every time I get a return call, a complaint is filed and your company is fined.
Trying to spoof caller ID is another amusing trick. It doesn't work when you know someone with access to the phone logs system.

Ok, pat kelley. I understand your frustration of recieving abuse over the phone. I've never worked in a call center where I had to call out but I did recieve calls for a makeup company who outsourced to india for the initial call and people accepted vitamins and magazine subscriptions for "free" for the first whatever days. I had a woman call and ask for the celebrity representative, then when I told her he wasn't available, she went on to tell me I was going to go to hell for scamming her and her brother was a lawyer she was going to sue me personally. I asked her what it says on her bank statement x-company makeup short word or x-company vit and she said vit. I told her she accepted a membership to a vitamin company and had to call the number on the bottle since that was a different "dept" companies words for another company. She sighed and said ok thank you God bless you and merry christmas.
Honesrly this isn't the website to get sympathy for bad days at work. This is a website against tele-marketers. No-one has ever liked tele-marketers calling and they never will. Pray for a new job. Pray to Jesus and it will happen. I did and i quict the call center and went on to work 3 years in my favorite job. Now i've moved on to an evem better job. Wallowing in self-pity is never the amswer.
And whoever reads this go ahead and make fun of my gramar or spelling. Lets see you try to do this on a touch screen any better.....this is my first and last time to this site so i won't see any replies. But hope i could help pat

Although I thought this site was to complain/report harassing phone calls from any number, not just telemarketers, I do understand how they can be harassing/annoying. Once the telemarketer starts talking and I know it is a sales call, I simply say, "No thank you and please take us off your call list." I then hang up, There is no arguing or yelling nor anymore calls from that company. I don't care what they say to their co-workers.
Call centers though are not just telemarketers. People DO call these centers whenever they need help with something, repairs, or even to complain. Most of these jobs have been outsourced to foreign countries, which does put a lot of people in the United States out of work. The ones that remain are closing the centers and moving the phones to the employees' homes. So, next time you need an appliance repaired, computer repaired, or any household item where the tech comes to you, remember that they are not coming from a centralized center anymore, but from their own homes and you start paying for their services from the minute they get into their car.
It also could be someone from the call center that calls you back when you have called or e-mailed for a repair or service. I don't like telemarketers either, but that's no reason to be rude to them. I also don't think they should be rude to the customer, even if the customer was rude to them. Two wrongs don't make a right, right?
Telemarketers do have a job to do and it takes a special kind of talent/skill to do that job, and do it well. I'm sure those who have tried it know that is true. You need to be able to sell ice to the Eskimos in order to survive and make money in that industry, and skin made of rubber or steel so that nasty customers' words don't penetrate.
Best advice to avoid telemarketers altogether, don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the name or number on your caller ID. If it's important, they will leave a message on your voice mail/answering machine.
Okay, I'm done. Sorry to be so long winded. Now I'll probably have tons of hate mail, right? LOL
All of you people out there that say I cannot have a job prepare to pay my credit cards, my housing, my prescription drugs, my food and my expenses when I try to live on a ZERO income when all people want to happen is call center after call center be eliminated. Then all the businesses in my area go out of business when the 30-40% Real unemployment rate people who are not working cannot go anywhere or do anything or buy anything. That is supposed to be a good thing. There are more and more businesses around me that are going out of business every day due to high unemployment here. I have for sure an Accounting Degree from Northeastern State University and worked hard for it. I was in a car wreck in 1992 and another one in 2006 and barely survived plus fell down my stairs and have to use a walker. I also have had two nervous breakdowns and was diagnosed with a mental illness in 1999 that was not my falt yet people on this board think all this stuff that happened to me was my falt. It was not my falt at all. I look for work all the time and try to get better jobs yet call center after call center has been eliminated due to the DNC, NAAFAT, and Oregon's too high mimimum wage. They can go to other states for lower wages. That is supposed to be a good thing when people cannot work and have Zero income. It becomes a huge domino effect when you have many people who cannot go anywhere and do not patronize the businesses where they go under. The Employment office will not help you in this town and blame you for why the last call center or place you worked for went out of business or outsourced. If you jerk reallyknew how bad it really is on the street you would of never said what you said. Obviously you must want to pay all my bills and expenses and the government is charging businesses to be on the DVC and used it as a revenue generator yet we are still trillions of dollars in debt in this country. That is why the people in the Occupy Movment are so mad because of the jobs that have been taken away from us and out future going down the tubes. I have no money to start a business. I have three friends that did that and within a few years they lost their businesses. Thank God I have no kids because you will probably tell them they cannot work or do not deserve a job either. All we can do is try and do what we can. You have never had it rough at all I can tell and have no idea what it is like out there and need a taste of your own cruel medicine.

Okay. As far as I can tell, you WERE trying to put the number on the no-call list. Right? But the other party wouldn't even let you tell them this. Right? Sucky jobs suck, but they pay the bills. I think if it were me, I'd tell them they've got hang-ups, and then hang up the phone.
