I have a Panasonic land line phone that I use to block unwanted calls. You can add the unwanted calls to your block calls directory and whenever they call you the phone will reject it. Since the directory is limited to some 25 numbers only, I remove the oldest number to insert a new one. Usually the older numbers have tired of hitting blocked calls and gone away.

please  don't  post  this  as  a  new thread..............this is  common  knowledge  that   everyone  knows  anyway   !!

***  as  there  are   countless   thousands  of  phone  numbers ,  fake /  real or  otherwise that  can be  blocked..... , this  solution ends up  being a  percentage  of   0  %       effective  !!!

    Chris:
I wish you were correct, but there are several ways to block unwanted numbers.
I am happy to see this new thread from Mariner338 who has a very good solution
in the Panasonic telephone instrument. Many cell phones have a save contact entry
    with the "no ringer" option.
Of course, the local Telephone companies offer call blocking options for those not
    as knowledgeable as you.
Perhaps you could give others the opportunity to share their knowledge regarding
800 Notes information and look more intelligent in the process.
    Thank you,
    Phone Man

I'm in your same situation.  Although, I find that 'spoofed' phone calls don't get scooped up by my block.  That's the only way that I can figure that 'Rachel' has managed to  call her with so many different phone numbers!

Criminals will spoof the numbers of everything starting from personal numbers to the numbers of companies to try to get people to answer them but who are they trying to fool? Even if they spoof the numbers of the entire planet, nobody should answer their calls. Repetitive calls for wont help them. If they want me answering their calls, they should have the courage to give me their addresses and phone numbers. Or else screw em all to hell for being cowards who think they can get away with it.

    Chris-
Not everyone knows how to block a call and you were out of line saying EVERYONE knows.  How totally rude of you.  Mariner338 was helping others out.  Maybe you should try this sometimes, oh but I guess you know everything and you can not learn from others.  Too Bad for you!   Maybe you need to volunteer somewhere to really see what is happening in the world.  Maybe if you open your mind you may also open your heart and be a nicer person.

Using technology like a weapon is what modern day criminals are into. They think that they are above the law. One day its going to back fire on them. Its only a matter of time.

There was a small device called EZ Hangup. Little device that hooked into your phone. With the press of a button it would send the message "this number does not accept these calls and this is your notice to remove this number from your lists". Legally they are not allowed to call you again. They usually didn't call again. Unfortunately I can't even find it on the internet now.
The best preventative solution is to have your number unlisted.
As for the national Do Not Call registry, it is useless it has too many loopholes.

The repetitive annoyance calls began several days after I registered my cell phone on the "do not call list". I beleive this is where they acquired my number for their call list.

Great info. And not everyone knows this. So how do you block on a cell phone?  Do not have a landline. Travel a lot to different time zones. My AC is in one time zone but when I travel there could be a 3 hr difference. I get calls very late at night

After talking to these people I realized that they are crazy and they need treatment. Talking crap to them made me feel sick. So its better to ignore them. You can't change the mind of a lunatic.

I have used my phone company's facilities to block calls from up to 20 numbers.

That's pretty limiting, so I also have a couple of call blocking gadgets to block even more.   My newest device costs me about $100, but it lets me block entire area codes as well is bogus, ill-formed  phone numbers.  It is a Digitone Call Blocker 10, which can be seen at <http://digitone.com>

If you don't have caller ID, these gadgets won't work.
