I have received over the last month over a dozen calls.  The numbers calling me are "857-444-5503", "609-318-9622" "414-877-5518" 614-407-5512"  They also use the name Diabetic Connection.    I contacted this company, which is a legitimate company and spoke to their corporate office.  I told them to take my name out of their date bases.    The person I spoke to is named Matthew and this is his direct phone number. 801-708-7887.    He will remove your number.    I told him I reported all these numbers to the FCC.   He said these are "legitimate" calls from people who expressed a need for diabetic supplies.  I told him that wasn't true.  But, I don't argue.   CALL HIM.  BOTHER HIM. SEE HOW HE LIKES IT!

Is it possible they're calling the previous owner of your telephone number, who may have expressed this need? Just asking...

Call reports made all last year suggest otherwise, that these alleged medical suppliers are using the dart board theory. One name frequently reported was "Senior Diabetic Network".

I have owned this phone for 15 years.  No that is not the reason.   However, just wanted to let you know that I contacted Alliance Health, Utah address and phone number and spoke to Matthew Jackson who is the director of their database and he is removing my name and number from ALL their data bases.  If anyone wants to call him, his number is 801-708-7887.   It is a legitimate company, but their marketing stinks!   I told him that people are really angry about their constantly calling every day and he apologized.  Haven't had a call yet today!!!

I have so far rec'd 3 calls from Alliance Health.  I live in Southern CA and have an 818 area code.

The first call I received from this company was back on Thursday, May 31st, 2012 at 8:13AM Pacific Standard Time from 813-444-5520. I didn't get to the phone in time and called it back and heard the following automated message in a female voice:

"Thank you for calling Alliance Health, we specialize in helping people like yourself maximize their benefits from their insurance providers to make sure all of their healthcare needs are being met for the lowest cost. If you qualify one of the suppliers in our nationwide network of top providers can deliver the medical supplies you need at lower or no cost. To see if you qualify we will return your call shortly or simply press one to leave us your name and number and we will return your call.  If you do not want to receive any additional calls from us, and to be placed on our do not contact list, please press two."
    .
The second call from this number was on Monday, June 4th, 2012 @ 7:45pm PST from 510-201-5511. Just as I picked up the line disconnected.  I called it back and again heard the message above.

I rec'd a 3rd call today from call from this number today Wednesday, June 6, 2012 @ 1:18pm PST from 917-398-9735.  I didn't get to the phone in time to answer.  When I called the number back I again heard the same automated message.

I read through all the notes on this company and several people claim to be getting multiple calls from this company from multiple numbers and have posted lists of these numbers.

I called each number listed and each time I heard the same automated message. I looked up Alliance Health and found a site for Alliance Healthcare Services: http://alliancehealthcareservices-us.com/home . I do not know if it's the same company.  I called Alliance Healthcare Services customer service line:  800.544.3215 and could not get through to anyone.  My number is on the DNC and I haven't signed up on any sights having to do with medical supplies I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

Here is a list of each number I've seen and checked so far and the notes people have left regarding them.

My solution?  Don't answer the phone.  It works.  It works because they can't solicit to an answering machine.

Think about it:  You're paying for caller ID, why not it do its work?

Turn off the ringer and the volume of your answering machine message, and let your hardware do the work.

I just called the Matthew mentioned in the first comment. Matt's system barely gives enough time to say why I was calling.  So I called back, told him I am on the DNC list, I am not diabetic, and told him to remove my number immediately. Further calls would be referred to the DNC list.

    Wish me luck.

I called the Matthew mentioned by Erin above: 801 708-7887. Asked my number be removed, that I had called before, but I was still getting calls. I had notified the FCC and would be doing so again.

He called me back immediately and id'd himself as a marketing VP.

I asked why I was getting calls, and he said I may have filled something out on an internet page. I reiiterated I did not have diabetes and my doc says I'm pretty far from being near diabetes.

He said he would remove my number IMMEDIATELY. Wish me luck.

The call at 8:10 this morning was pretty annoying, especially as I'd had trouble getting to sleep. Grrrrr.

Big, big, big Thank You to Erin!

Consumer, I've always used the do not pick up the phone and they'll get tired of calling me. Computers don't get tired, and they have to be programmed to not call after X number of calls get no response.  I think Alliance is betting just one answer our the hundred they make to you will result in some profit. But having the number Erin dug up (props to you for your investigative skills, Erin!)

Instead of calling back the number which called you, CALL Matthew! 801-708-7887. May take more than one call.

I will let you know whether I stop getting calls.

There seems to be a growing trend even among "legitimate"  companies to violate the DNC, because it simply has no teeth in terms of enforcement.    The chances of getting caught and the FTC  prosecuting is so remote it simply makes good business sense to break the law.

Thanks for posting that number. My only medical problem was a sore arm from picking up and answering these nuisance calls.  Hopefully, no more.

This company is owned by Geoffrey Swindle (yep) and his lovely wife Adria, who make their home at 1632 E. Millcreek Road, Salt Lake City. I'm sure they would love to hear from you at home, 801-581-0613.

Also, there is one listed director: Armistead Burwell of 1507 E. Tomahawk Drive. Call him or Kendall at (801) 581-0943 and wish them well.

    >> Opting out does not work. <<

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
    Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit Amazon or similar sales site.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
    * Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
    * Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/one-ring-cel ... ing-your-wallet
    * If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.
