I have noticed that some robocalling "charities" often come up as "dead" phone calls or "no one there" type of hanging calls. Are there any rules about this annoying problem from the FTC or FCC? I can't seem to find anything on it, but when it happens a lot and they call and call and never complete the call, well, I'd like to scream. Anybody know the law on this one?
They say charities are allowed to call you but how in the world would one know if the supposed charity is real or not? It's better to donate directly to a cause rather than route it through a third party fraud claiming to be some sort of charity. If some nut is consistently calling you and harassing you using several different numbers, it isn't a real charity. Ignore it or just block all their numbers.

Telemarketing is very expensive. Even legitimate charities, the charity keeps about 70% of every donation.
Payback is right. If you want to donate to a charity find their snail mail address and mail them a check. Never donate to someone who called you.
