They tell you it is a 30 day free trial. Then the next morning they take 19.90 out of my account. I demand my 19.90 plus the $25.00 overdraft fee and they tell me they can only refund 14.95, that was my granddaughters halloween money. I promised them that I would terriorize them and I will. They couldnt even tell me the name of the boss at corporate. But It is Unclaimed Money Discovery in Las Vegas, Nevada Fake phone number. I am gonna report them on every website I can find.
Change your bank account and don't give the information so easily.
You don't need them. You should search in every state you have lived and in states people lived who you have inherited from. Do it every year or so. http://www.unclaimed.org/ If you find some, the state will tell you what you need to do to collect. We got some oil royalties FIL lost before he died and we found a tax refund for MIL and got it sent to her.

I was told I had an accoumt that had been closed by ING Direct, they told me that there was money in the account and that the state treasury had it. I was given a number for Unclaimed Money Discovery out of Las Vegas, Nevada. I had to pay a one time fee of $19.00. So I did and they processed my name. I was told that I had unclaimed money from my deceased husband. After having to dig up the death certificate and other info I was disconnected 4-5 times. Was promised call backs for 2 weeks and finally was told, after numerous phone calls back to them, that they sent me an email to claim the money. Well never received an email and then I look and they took out $30.00 from my account. So after an unauthorized withdrawl I called them back and demanded my money be put back. After arguing with them they finally put my money back. After this I demanded an email with my claim info and finally received one. Unfortunately I was unable to print out whatever was sent to me. I finally just let it go until 3 days ago I saw another $30.00 taken out of my account. For what?? I still dont know. I just got off the phone but not without being hung up on 3 times. Im still demanding for my money to be returned to my bank account. This company is a scam. They lie to you, hang up on you when you start asking questions and whatever they emailed to me was not able to be printed out. Do Not Believe these people. Its a scam. So as of today, November 8 2012 I still do not have my money returned to me from an unauthorized withdrawal. Karla from Bridgeport, Ct
I agree with you. They screwed me as well. I wrote a whole explanation of what happened. I want to know who to call to shut them down. They are scam artists.

Yes I called unclaimed money discovery they tried to tell me my mother left me a insurance policy and they needed 29.99 from me so they can process it iam so glad I investigated it and listend to people that they scammed on Google I do believe they are a scam
If you were contacted by phone, can you list that number? After you do a search and see if it is listed already? This site is number driven, and a post without a phone number is likely to be lost in the mists. As you see, there were posts from 2012, and then nothing until yours in 2015. Thanks!
PS - To anyone reading this who hears the same story: In the case of either being a beneficiary of a policy, or the return of unused premium payments, contact will be only through the insurance company. If you get a call from someone saying they are from an insurance company, you will not be asked to pay anything to have either a benefit or an over payment returned. Asking for you to pay is illegal. The only exception might be if you wanted a check sent via FedEx or UPS over-night. You might have to pay for that, but maybe NOT for US Post Express Mail.
Big Hint: Anyone who claims to have a company that finds "lost insurance money" is a scammer 100% of the time.
If you are asked to verify any personal info by someone claiming to be from an insurance company, get the name of the company, and the physical and mailing address of the Home Office and the type of policy and if possible the policy number. A legit Insurance company should be able to tell you the type of policy, but they may balk at the policy number. So long as you know who the owner of the policy was, and where bills were being sent, that should be enough.
Ask for the Agency Name and location that handled the policy, that is NOT a secret. And the name of the agent. Get off the phone, and look up that Company on the internet or phone book, look for the home office phone number, call that and ask for Policy Owner Service. That will be your way to find out if you do have any money or refunds due to you. You call also call a local agent, but I would go to the source. Fast and accurate.
Note: If you get a call with a story about a "Long Lost Policy", that had been forgotten, misplaced, etc. Be VERY suspicious. That does happen, but the odds are about the same as hitting a lottery. You can double check with a call. While you have the caller on the phone, tell them you are soooo excited and want to call the local TV station to do a Human Interest story. If you are talking to a scammer, they will hang up so fast and hard you will hear it 10 miles away.
Every state has a State Treasurer who usually handles these long lost payments at no charge to you. It is simply a matter of filling out a few forms, providing supporting documentation, and then waiting for the check to arrive in the mail.

You can look up your own money for free.go to: https://www.usa.gov/unclaimed-money#item-37072. I found money that should go to my nephew, and some that I could claim. Anyone that says they found money you lost is a scammer if they need your $$ to get it. I once fund some that belonged to a person in my small town, it took me a while to convince him I was who I said I was.

I was told by a lady claiming to be from a company called Unclaimed Money Discovery located in Las Vegas, NV, that I had a 90% chance that I do indeed have money "some where" and for a fee of $25.99 plus $5 for processing my claim. Now,. after researching them, I find out they are a total scam!
I hope you didn't give them any money! If you did, cancel the credit card or checking account you used IMMEDIATELY! They will rip you off for a lot more than 35 bucks if you don't.

Many people including me have unclaimed money. I'm from California. All you have to do is go to the state web site and look under unclaimed funds and if you have any it will be there. Most times it's from old escrow acts, or old bank acts. I still have a few hundred dollars on their. I would imagine most states have the same thing. These scammers are looking at that site, and if they can figure out your address or phone number they contact you. I get very official letters, now and then, offering to help me secure this money, for a fee. It's free to claim these funds. If this was already covered, forgive my redundancy, it just caught my eye.
I don't think the scammers care who has lost money. They call everyone at random, looking for anyone dumb enough to give the scammers their banking information.
BTW - You'd be wise to claim that unclaimed money. In most states you have a limited amount of time to claim your money. Eventually the state declares the money abandoned and keeps it.
I called the no. for unclaimed money a 806-989-2977 . She tried every way she could to get my bank info. I told her no. You have to pay fees for your unclaimed money it is a scam. I don`t want it. She knew my deceased husbands name and my email . They get your phone no. when you call. If you have money coming you will get notification by mail not on the internet. If I get any paper work, I will take it to my bank. They will handle the fraud. Do not give any bank info on line or phone!
