The google listing scams

I replied to you in the other thread.  There is no state listing anywhere under that name.  They may be registered under a different name.

Today, the office received a call from 734-237-1366. Although the call didn't mention Google (more about that in a moment), it came from an SEO company. So, I hope that makes this call on-topic for the thread.

It seems like most of these robocalls we get invariably mention Google or Bing in some form. Today's robocall avoided mentioning any company and instead stated there were, "discrepancies with your online business listing."

The live operator identified his SEO company as Axe Media. I found two such companies named that with a cursory online search--one in Australia and one in the Toronto area--but I'm not sure if this was either or neither of them.

CONTRACT READS: Customer may not cancel; consents to receive autodialed and/or pre-recorded telemarketing calls (from virtually anyone); no refunds.  "BrandRep may not succeed with some services paid by the Customer...(customer) foregoes the right to dispute credit card charges (you just gave away your legal recourse to sue them for services not received yet paid for.)  YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED.

Sounds like that 'company' is desperate to hold onto the money it gets. VISA/MasterCard and the banks should not allow BarndRep to create, much less enforce, such contracts on the clients that use credit cards.

Has VISA/MasterCard been notified about this company?

That contract may not be enforceable in some or all of the States.  However, you are taking a condition in the contract and not printing the rest of the contract.  Did you receive that contract from them, or is it on the internet from a reliable source?

So the contract actually says "YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED."? Wow, that's unusual.

As this is simply a website to help identify unknown phone numbers, no one here can do as you request. You, however, can. Simply block and ignore unwanted calls.
    You're welcome.

Been reading impossible demands just about every day and it's very annoying. Would you please learn how a bulletin board website works? Thank you.

Once more with reeling ... 800Notes is not a messaging service. 800Notes does not send alerts to your callers when you post here. You must direct your demands to the sources of your unwanted calls. No one reading here has the necessary clairvoyance to determine what "phone calls" you protest and which phone number of yours is affected. No part of the website promised you a call blocking service.

Users of 800Notes benefit from shared information and suggestions for solving our own problems. Making unreasonable demands does not provide a benefit to anyone. Stopping calls from one particular place to one particular person is not one of those benefits. That is in fact your job.

Just got a call from a Brand Rep salesman. He was very pushy and when I said that I needed time to discuss the decision with one of my associates, he got very sarcastic and hung up on me.
I would never deal with a company that works like this.

Today, we received a call from a Private Caller that was a robocall for updating our Google profile. I chose to speak to a live operator who identified his company as Oasis Media. An online search couldn't conclusively find a company with that name that provides SEO-related services.

when they call my business, i tell them they are calling a personal number and to please remove it.  Unfortunately, they change phone numbers and do it again and again.  On average I get about 3 - 5 calls a week from these scammers.

Today, we received a call from 201-685-7137 regarding our Google Business Listing. Operator Nicole tried to convince me she worked for a fictitious company. Still, I reported the number to Google.

For those not wanting to scroll through previous posts, here is a summary of the companies that have called our office in 2017 with the numbers they've used:

Also, here is the link to the form for reporting these calls to Google: https://support.google.com/business/contact/rbc_form

What? No EGumball? Good job reporting these to Google, since they are tired of these as well.  They want to hear from you about these people.

    They've already sued Local Lighthouse for this (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/seo-firm-local ... -eric-richmond/, https://www.hallaminternet.com/googlescams-google-sues-seo-agency/).
