Hi Mildred.  Since you're using voip anyway, when your Cox voip contract is up, you might consider dropping the voip part and using only the internet connection.  With that you can use your existing ATA, or if it's owned by Cox you can buy an inexpensive, reliable one from Amazon.  Either way you can register the ATA with voip.ms or an equivalent independent voip service.  Voip.ms charges only by a call's airtime, they have unlimited call blocking including wild cards like area codes, and they're supported by nomorobo.  The approach has the added advantage of saving money.  Just sayin'...

I started with Nomorobo two days ago.  Wow.  What a difference.  I'm a xfinity customer so I'm able to go online to see the numbers that call my phone.  Nomorobo is blocking 12-15 a day.  This is a beautiful thing and I am so grateful for it!

Finally got tired of the telemarketers and scammers (see previous posts) and bought a TLock Call Blocker from Amazon.  Thanks for the advice Tami.  Last week, Monday to Friday, I received 28 phone calls.  One day there were 11 calls with 6 calls within 4 hours.  I've started to use the TLock and have blocked 6 calls so far.  If I continue to get the calls every day from Conns in Texas I'll block the area code.  It would have been nice if Cox would support the free Nomorobo.  Thanks for everyone's help.

I just suggested to no mo ro bo that they block ALL calls that do not have a real area code and a real prefix.  In the USA, there is no prefix less than 200 or that starts with a 1.  If you don't believe me check out area-codes.com.  Great site.  It will let you see if you number on caller ID could be real or just a fake, like prefixes 211,311, 411 etc.  This will help you spot spoofed numbers right away.  Don't tell the spoofers.  We don't want them to het wise to us.

I signed up for this service through Comcast.  In the past you could only use this service with their app, but now it's available to us.  :)

Just one more way for me to fight the robocalls.

There is no way an anonymous caller is getting through because I have it set up with the phone company to not accept those calls.

The phone company would send a message to the caller saying that the number doesn't accept blocked calls and to hang up and dial *82 to unblock their number.

I just tested our phone since setting up nomorobo by calling our home phone and making the call anonymous (*67) and this is the message that is played:  The wireless customer you are calling isn't available, please try again later.

Check with your phone company.  Even before getting nomo robo anonymous calls were blocked by Comcast by pushing *77.

My mistake... It is the phone company that is sending that message.  *77 does block the anonymous calls, but not sure why it is saying the phone is wireless.

Maybe they expect everyone to go wireless.  In any case, the important thing is that it blocks the calls.

I've had Nomorobo for several months now and love it.  Once in a while I check my Comcast voice history log and find calls that were blocked by Nomorobo.  I can tell they were blocked since the calls only appear in Comcast's 'answered calls' log but the calls do not appear on my CID and never get through... so my answering machine doesn't pick up. Ironically Nomorobo is 'partnered' with Comcast but Comcast uses a number, 800 Service (800) 685-1518 as part of their service technician appointment verification, but the number gets picked up by Nomorobo and gets blocked.  People  Comcast just scratch their heads.

You can go to your Nomorobo dashboard and report that number as one that shouldn't be blocked.

NoMoRobo has been working well for me for the past year on my home phone (Xfinity, VoIP).
I recently installed Hangouts on my Android cell phone.  This also works well except when calling my home phone.  I have several issues:
    1) I receive a message that my callerID is blocked but not consistently - this is probably coming from my Xfinity VOIP service as I do not accept calls from blocked caller IDs.  Don't understand why Hangouts is not sending caller ID info.  this is annoying but easy to resolve by dialing *82 and then having hangouts call my home phone.   Many times this message does not occur.
    2) After dealing with the above I then get a message from NoMoRobo that I need to enter a two digit code to prove I am not a robocaller.  Again this is easy to deal with but I do not understand why NoMoRobo does not see my cell phone number.
    3)  Finally NoMoRobo calls my home phone but the caller ID is the NoMoRobo # and not my cell phone #>

Your statements would probably be better addressed if you asked the questions of the Nomorobo staff and the Hangouts designers.
