CFPB Files Suit Against Law Firm for Collection Activities

I suspect he means the "Royal We" because he considers himself part of the law and not subject to the law. - Alfalfa replies to Alfalfa| 2 repliesQuote:"We did not initiate any pattern or practice with the intent to deceive or harm consumers. Oh, yes he did. In my case, Hanna claimed I had "refused to pay" when I made it abundantly clear in court documents that I wanted to pay the debt in question. As a matter of fact, my debt settlement offer was more than he ended up getting through a judgment---which is exactly what he was after. Bottom line is---he is no more interested in working with consumers than we can fly and KNOWS it. - Gunnar replies to Alfalfa| 1 replyI think the man is a Scoundrel. I believe he knows what he is & doesn't care in the slightest. He epitomizes everything that is wrong in his area of law & he should be hung out to dry and made an example of. Of course, none of this will happen. The man will happily trudge along in his world & not give a care about what others in the practice of law think about his activities. Money is his only motivation. He feels that loopholes were put there for him to find & that if he can find them then God himself must have meant him to get rich by them. He'll get by these "small hurdles" & carry on. One way or the other. But...things are catching up to him. Slowly, but relentlessly.
Money alone no longer equates to power & prestige. Money can no longer buy a fine reputation. A fat wallet doesn't prevent snickers at the Country Club. A large donation to a charitable organization might be appreciated, but all of a sudden it might stop being mentioned in the media. Friends might remain friends, but they may forget to mention it as often. Or, at all.
Days of reckoning are fun to watch. I'll be watching the circus called Hanna & Associates. I'm sure you will be too my friend. They are, after all, in our back yards. Regardless of how this pans out, keep one thing in mind. This man will, one day, have his ultimate day of Judgement. I would NOT want to be anywhere near those Pearly Gates on that day!
Live Well.

Of course he is. He made that clear during his last trial, when he glared into the lens of a TV camera and cooed: "People need to pay their bills". And, with that statement, he made it clear he has no intention of apologizing to anyone for what he has done. - Chiri replies to Alfalfa| 2 repliesI do have a question i have a lawsuit in Marieta, Ga and I live in North Carolina, is this legal?
- Resident47 replies to ChiriUnderstand there is no gentle way to break this to you. The fact that the terms "Georgia" and "lawsuit" appear in this thread does not mean that your nearly undefined, and very off-topic, problem belongs here. There is no confident answer to "Is this legal" until a person supplies useful, elementary details, such as identifying whether you're the defendant or the plaintiff, the intended goals of the parties, and the date of commencement of action, and if a party relocated before or after that date.
Cursory study of this thread, and indeed many pockets of this website, should suggest that not all debt collection methods are correct. If we can presume that you're at the wrong end of a collection suit, the relevant laws and commentary about them wait patiently for you to read them. Below are links to reliable starting points for your homework.

You should immediately go to a lawyer and ask him/her. If you cannot afford an attorney, call your local BAR association and see if the have a legal air or pro bono attorney available for you.
