Minor detail: The Do Not Call List and related regulations have been in place for 10 years--the more data the FCC and FTC have on DNC violators via complaints, the more likely effective enforcement can happen.

Whoo!  Good job!  Frankly, I think anything in the 15-20 minute range is awesome.  We ought to record some of these and post them to youtube!

"Most telemarketers work on commission" - well, they do legally have to make some hourly wage.  But even so, remember that the commission comes from SALES.  And that commission is not part of their profit from the sale.  So, yes, you cost the agent a commission, but you are also costing the company sales and profit.  It's hurts the entire company.  And if there is no profit, there is no company!

Don't forget the Do Not Call registry applies to residential numbers only -- these predators can call any business number they want without restriction. And they do! We have a small business and often the majority of the calls in one day (today for example) are telemarketers. Get a call blocker. I did, and it's such a relief. The phone still rings - once - when a blocked number calls but they get no further. It still doesn't resolve the frustrating and beyond irritating fact that they will never, ever stop, but it's the best we can do at this time.

I write down or memorize the numbers of suspect callers. By corroborating the information from other posters on this site, I can make an informed choice whether or not to answer in the future. 99% of the time -- I never answer. Good luck trying!
