I have decided it was time to share a weapon here with the group: My "Do Not Answer - Scammers" contact list. EVERY NUMBER on this list is a scammer / spoofed number that has come back as "cannot be completed as dialled" after calling me. I have all these in a single big contact on my iphone, and add to it every time I get a new one. It could be the "Hello Seniors" scammers, or our friends the Card Services scammers, or even the "grant from the government for being a good citizen and paying your taxes" scammers with the thick accents. ALL are scum. The iphone offers a "block this contact" option, but even then, sometimes it will ring. I have a special ringtone for this do-not-answer contact, just a short file with silence in it. But that is my system, yours may be different.

I have edited this down to just the raw numbers, so that you can edit a contact on your respective phone systems that may or may not support the virtual-card format, and just paste this into your own systems. My hope with this topic on 800Notes is others can add their numbers to the list and hopefully we can develop a BIG database that maybe eventually we can put a dent in these slime. Enjoy.

How is anybody supposed to find anything in that mess?  I checked random numbers on the list. Many already have number threads posted. Some don't. Your time would have been better served by posting each number ---->>>> in the box to the right with the big red letters called PHONE NUMBER SEARCH and then hitting search and putting your info in there so people could actually find the numbers. People have done this before and the posts have been taken down. Yours has been reported to Adm. to be removed. Post EACH number so that people can actually find them. Did you even read the point of this Forum?  Usually, if someone does not post a number, I will do them a favor and post it for them but forget it on this one. You  need to do it yourself.  The last people who did this posted 150 and 180 numbers. If you want to help others, post where they belong and tell people they are scam numbers. [:]

So you missed the fact that this site is built around a BIG database, or did you just decide to ignore it?

Pookie has it right, this is just a mess of numbers.  It is not even sorted.  You mention that these are spoofed numbers.  The problem with that is spoofed numbers are usually not used for prolonged periods and are dripped by the scammers for different spoofed numbers.  I randomly looked at about a dozen of the numbers on your list and the threads for many of them have been inactive for six months or more.  In other words, they are not being used as spoofed numbers now.

You may think that this is being a help to people, but it is not.  Being of help would be to post your experiences with each number on the proper number thread.  If this thread is not removed by the Admins shortly, it will drift off to be lost among all the other  forum threads and be forgotten.

A spoofed number? Well that's anything from (000) 000-0000 to (999) 999-9999. Now wasn't that helpful? I think the person meant well, but it's not going to help anyone. I think Admin should send this to the delete box.

    Badge,

I believe many of us have asked the admin. here to delete this thread! This same bozo had already posted similar nonsense (listing 100+ numbers that can pretty much be found using the search box here and already have posts on each.) No one needs a redundant thread or for that matter a waste of space like this thread has!

The Phone Number Search allows people to search these numbers already.

For all of you who have attacked Cmdr Data, please go back and read his second paragraph. He explained the purpose of the long list.  If you do not understand his instructions, how about you ask for clarification rather than demanding admin delete his thread.  While it may not be useful to you, because you either don't understand it's purpose or couldn't be bothered to read his whole thread, I appreciate be provided with a list of numbers that I can copy and paste into my blocked numbers list on my phone system.

Hopefully this post will be locked since I am sure the bulk of the numbers already have threads.

    >> how about you ask for clarification   <<

    Why?
We can easily find the current numbers being used by scammers.
There is no necessity for people to type in a long series of numbers, some of which may no longer be used, and others that might NOT belong to scammers.  The real purpose of that list might (and I say "might") be to fill up the memories of viewers' blocking devices, to prevent the addition of current numbers.

In fact, there are some sites that provide easily-copied lists of current scam numbers, without the explanations that are shown in 800notes.  A little googling will find them.

There are even some apps that access user-contributed databases, and nomorobo uses a fairly decent database.  So, the "contribution" is not unique, and its value is questionable.

Why is it always "us" that have the reading comprehension problem?  Why is it always "us" that don't know how this site works?  Really getting bad when you get insulted by someone who can't even spell their screen name correctly.

I have an idea, Feed Up, why don't you take Badge 714's advice and just block EVERY number from 000-000-0000 to 999-999-9999. There ya go. Problem solved. No more spoofed calls. Gee, that was easy! Oh, and why don't you go back and read my post for clarification of why this thread is a problem. Thank you [:]
