Forward Movement Recovery
- JoeMama replies to Ramiro B| 8 replies"Can you please tell me what was your outcome. This people called me today and when I ask to get paper work on the mail they got extremely mad an refuse saying they would send me an email pdf. When I got the note it seem like anyone can write this note so I didn't called back I looked up the adress and it's a lot somewhere in NY they don't even have a website. I still don't know what to do as well."
I'll tell you what to do. Do not call them back. Get a call blocker and put their number into it. They're nothing but low life scammers trying to scare you into giving them money. If they can't give you proper paperwork on the supposed debt you owe by mail, then they're not legit. What you're describing is a well-known scam. - JoeMama replies to TP| 2 replies"She gave me the number 877-529-6962 and a claim number and said she'll call back in a hour. I haven't called the number back and not sure if I will after reading this post."
Don't call them. They're scammers. - David| 15 repliesThis people are the same ones who called me with 8775213171 left a message from a thomas meadows saying a claim has been made against my name and that they needed to verify my place of residence and employment so i got scared and call the number back on friday then received a call with a extension number 319 only on caller id then a alexis left a 877 529 6962 to call back then i received another call from mr thomas meadows asking me to call and my cell phone caller id only shows extension 309 then shortly after that call i get a call from 855 348 2460 with a message something about a legal matter or a person of interest

Does anyone really think that if there were a legal claim against someone, the first thing they'd do is verify their correct address and place of employment? - David replies to JoeMama| 6 repliesthey change up their messages each time they call and use several different numbers
- JoeMama replies to David| 2 repliesJust keep blocking them. Hopefully they will realize they're not going to get through to you. Either that or when you speak to them tell them you're recording the call (even if you're not really). If they still persist, tell them that you know it's a scam and you're just gathering information for the local police. Eventually they should get the message. I know when I've gotten calls from other scammers, when I called them out on their obvious scam they hung up and never called back.
- SwearBear| 8 repliesI received a call from a Peter Mitchell (company unknown- when I asked where he was calling from his answer was "My office."). He had a case number and information he needed to get to me. He told me of FMR (Forward Movement Recovery) filing a lawsuit against me and gave me the number, 877-529-6962 to contact them directly. After calling FMR I learned I had supposedly taken a payday loan through Oakwood Services (another company I've never heard of) in January of 2012. I explained to the woman my confusion and she asked for proof of the funds being (or not being) deposited into my account. Said account has been closed for over 2 years, so I emailed the document to her at info@forwardmovementrecovery.com. I've yet to hear back from any of them....
- WolfmanJack replies to SwearBear| 4 repliesYour first mistake was that they must prove to you that you owe the debt, not the other way around. Hopefully you did not e mail them the complete document with account numbers on it. If you did, then you have a very big problem.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

The second thing I would do is to contact the NY State Attorney General and file a complaint. They have been cracking on these fake companies lately. - Bob Bean| 6 repliesFMR goes by four different names. They got their voicemail password hacked and somebody alerted consumers over the weekend. They fixed it though. They are trying to randomly collect on fake payday loans or loans that are not legal. Their threats are baseless. Please report them and help us all stop them from stealing from innocent people. NY State in Buffalo, NY!
- Bob BeanForward Movement Recovery was also Allied, Worldwide and a host of others. If they call you just tell them to stop calling and serve you. They won't. Same story as the Indian callers but they sound more legit because they are american. It's a shame they try and stoop low. I harass them daily and still never been sued. Its been 6 months from their threat. No calls, no process server. Lol

If someone were to be that deliberately vague with me, I wouldn't provide them with any of my information at all.
