800notes is very informative and from what I've notice that information is documented most of the time accurately about spoof callers and debt collection practices

800 notes is a good place to pump in a suspected scammer phone# but there are sevearl other site that do the same. Who called US is another site as well as phonerippoffs.

this is a highly relevant place for me. I get days where it's boiler, scamming, robocall central. I block them using youmail.com. I am falling a little out of favor with youmail because they have changed their reporting on my phone app. I have to constantly relog in to the app to report spam so I am less apt to do so unless sitting at my computer. I block the numbers and have days of peace. I come to here and look at the numbers with high volumes of complaints and add those numbers to my blocks. I am over 500 after 4 years of using youmail.
I also have a greater peace of mind that my family and aging parents, who I am taking care of, aren't getting scammed if they pick up the line. I actually turned my landline to Do Not Disturb so it NEVER rings except in my office. And in my office it only rings once and then youmail kicks in. If I care, I take a quick peek to my email to see if it's a blocked number or recognized. 9 out of 10 times, I never have to call anyone back. In my home only my cell rings but I can easily turn it off. I ONLY give that number to family and personal friends so on the rare occasion it is called by a spammer, it's because they are randomly dialing. I have never given it to a school, a job, a doctor, on any application or otherwise. I use a google voice number for that. I covet my extremely fractured peace and quiet away from the high demands of my life and work. I must keep a land line due to my location but it is a call out only line. It's also the number I give to every service provider so they can call me and leave a message. I can call them back. This extra step is way less time and hassle than answering the phone day and night to dead air, telemarketers, boiler room scams, surveys, political nonsense, charities (I donate anonymously anyway) and so on. So to answer your question, is this site relevant, yes! It's the ONLY site I use to ferret out the irritants.
I look up missed numbers all the time on 800notes and block numbers accordingly. This place works for me and I appreciate the contributors.

Because of poor habits by a family member we were getting more than 50 scam calls a month, she tried to speak with the caller and request they stop calling. The result was more calls. Based on the advice here, we started reporting the calls here and tracking them. Following the recommendations of others here, we now never ever answer and have not returned a call in about a year. We now get about 5 scam calls a month... significant improvement thanks to 800notes. It's relevant to me!
As far as we can tell Julia sold this board to someone else. We have discussed it at another board.

Oh-kay... When I saw the title of your post, I wrongly assumed you had something... Well... Informational to say about the site. Like something of Import. Like maybe that you found a better site or that there had been a break through in technology that made it unnecessary to come to 800notes or to post on it. Instead it turned out to be just some hodge-podge post that has nothing to do with the title. Uhm, did you have Any basic English classes where you went to school? And did you Take them? Did you Pass them?? Look, I'm pretty bad at spelling and grammar myself. (admittedly it's part due to being mildly dyslexic but still...) That's why I Always double check things Before I put it out there and show to the world at large my rear end. And that would be my suggestion to you... Proof-read what you've written. And if English isn't your first language, run it through a translator a couple times until the errors get washed out. There are a lot of half decent free ones online you can use.
The scam you are talking about is well-known, but most people don't know which countries and area codes support this type of scam. Jamaica is well-known due to the scammers pretending to be Publishers Clearing House.
I can't thumbs up without registering, but I never saw anyone confuse loose and lose until I got on the Internet, but it's now the most common misspelling of FIRST GRADE WORDS I see, and I see it constantly. This country is going to hell.
