We have been under a DDoS attack since this morning. The traffic load has been immense with several thousands requests per second. The attack is still on-going, and you might experience service interruptions. We are working on mitigating it.
We Are Under DDoS

- Resident47Figured as much .... This and the other Forte sites were either sputtering or dead today between late morning and midafternoon EST. Which pack of dishonest crybabies will it be this time? I've recently observed a few candidates harassing either Julia or random commentors.
- Don| 1 replyWell from where I sit, I can't do anything about this attack, but I can get back at them by spreading the word about this site. I'll email at least 5 people who might not know about it. I already told one person in person today.
- not MichaelThat explains the delay I had getting on this morning. And it tells us the site is annoying the scammers by helping people avoid getting scammed.
Way to go Julia! - Badge714Not surprised. Couldn't access the site yesterday morning & that was the first thing I thought of. Had it happen to another site I used to use. The other site never recovered. Always a pleasure to see the scammers worried.
- daryl| 1 replyCongratulations! That means you are hitting them where it hurts.
- Julia| 8 repliesDDoS attacks have become a routine thing for us. What's good about the attacks is that we are getting better and better at handling them. Thank you everyone for your support!
- eddyDDoS, the hack of choice for people who don't know how to hack. Kind of pathetic really...
- 800Admin replies to Julia| 4 repliesNot this one. This time we had to move to a provider who specializes in DDOS mitigation.
- Consumercomplaintwire.org has had the same problems.
- lone strangerNot quite there yet I'm thinking - finally gave up on trying to log in.
We must have PO'd somebody who likes spending money hiring botnets. - angryGRAMMA| 1 replyDo you know who is behind it yet? Isn't this against international law? Hope you get to sue the BLEEP off the slimeworms.
- Sir Bedevere| 1 replyI expected as much when I couldn't connect yesterday. A site that pisses off as many criminals as this one just has to deal with this sort of thing, I suppose. ("You have enemies? Good. It means you stood for something")
- eddy| 3 repliesTried to get on last night and nada.
I suspect the Indian call centers are behind this one. They've been loading peoples' computers all over the world with botware while running their bogus "repair" scam. You need 1000s of zombies to run a DDoS attack of this magnitude. I can't think of anyone else out there with the resources to do this. - Shill Alert| 2 repliesEvery time somebody get one of those "you're computer is full of viruses we need to fix it" calls, that's a bot army recruiter. Plenty of them shill on this site itself, so they're well aware of it.
If I had one of these bot armies and was looking for business, this site (ironically) is a great place to get leads. None of these crooks fear government action, and rightly so, because there is no real enforcement whatsoever. But evidently they fear crowd-sourcing sites like this. - Dave2U replies to 800Admin| 3 repliesIs/Are there one (or more) specific DDOS mitigation provider(s) you can recommend?
