"Passages Malibu" attempts to remove a user review by sending a trademark infringement claim to our provider. They say we are not allowed to mention their company name :)

- MarkThis is standard legal procedure. Try to intimidate someone by making false claims that they broke the law. A lot of people are afraid of lawyers and will knuckle under the threat. Really they're just trying to see if you're stupid, and YOU apparently are not.
This is one reason why lawyers have a bad reputation. - bigtexun| 1 replyI always come to 800notes.com first for all my spam calls. The copycats come and go. But I'm finding it really odd that this supseold thread is in the top spot on "latest news", it seems to start in 2015. Is this just an undated article staying on top, and needs to be purged? Or is this site suffering from neglect? The call reporting still feels fresh, but this article feels like cobwebs from the attic.

It was the first week of May 2017, to be fair, and I recall that my initial post had promptly followed the Admin article. I have records placing it a day before. I'd also noted its lack of dating, which was quite anomalous and I guess an honest error. I'd swear the date was placed subsequently, and now appears lost again, perhaps to some silly site bug.

The users don't control this section, filing this issue under "administrative neglect". Even when News did get updates it was never a high traffic section. If 800Notes is still performing its primary function for you, the abandoned News area should not heavily downgrade its value. Certainly if it was revived and well maintained it would add a "voice" to the site which could only help the brand and the users. - Sara replies to Resident47| 2 repliesMake it 3, lol!
- Sara replies to Sara| 1 replyWow, am I late to the party. I'm not #3, I'm # ????? I lost track on page 3. You have a large fan base now. I just found this site today, so I will slightly creep around looking for more insight from you. Keep it classy!
- Resident47 replies to SaraYes, someone claimed the third position four years ago, and the current tally has since become murky. Usually I'm a fiend for accuracy but this frivolous statistic I can let loose. Welcome to the fraud-watcher playground.
- nogreentractorI know I and many other Clean and Sober addicts think their advertisement is a JOKE. The statement " I used to be an addict but now I'm not " actually pisses me off.
We all know/believe that an addict is always an addict, we may be clean, sober, not active in addiction but always an addict. - Nico replies to Resident47| 1 replyWhat do you expect from a dope fiend? Passages was founded by Pax Prentiss, a reformed addict that claimed he was "cured from addiction".
As an addict/alcoholic, I speak from experiences that you aren't "Cured". To expect something honorable from someone that makes claims to "cure" addiction is a joke. - WilBlakeCHt replies to NicoI went to Passages Ventura in 2020 and found the program to be above par. I've been clean ever since and am now a Hypnotherapist and Addictions counselor. While I can't speak regarding Pax or Chris because I have never met them personally, I can say that what they provided changed a path that I believed to be unchangeable. The "Cure" that they claim to have is a marketing tool, to be sure; the proposed "Cure" is to continue to do the work started there which is the same thing any reputable facility should tell their clients. In my opinion, the majority of facilities in the treatment industry have an aspect of greed that colors the personality of the owners, but the owners rarely, if ever, are involved in the actual treatment. At the time that I was there, Passages had top notch clinicians that were wiling to meet me where I was emotionally, psychologically and physiologically, and Pax was nowhere to be seen, despite my many requests to meet him. I won't say that I owe them for where I am now because (1) I paid a generous sum for what I received. I owe nothing. (2) while they did provide the methodology, I was the one that put in the effort. I am grateful for the service that they provided and I strive to have compassion for all who suffer from greed. Even luxury rehab owners.
