Received several phone calls from 800-357-6675. Finally decided to answer. Man with middle eastern accent said he waswith Wells Fargo and there was a sensitive issue regarding my mortgage. Then said he was going to out his manager on. Buttons beeped..nothing then another man with a middle eastern accent came on the line said his name was something Patel I think. He then confirmed my property address and said let me set this call up to be recorded and another loud beep. He confirmed the beep meant we were good now. Then he said my mortgage was in default. No it's not I say. Because your escrow is depleted. No it's not. I say. He says, I will have to send you an email then. Hung up. Looked this up and now reporting.

same thing,, he called,  said if i didn't pay $754 for my escrow they would start foreclose on my home,,, I thought it was strange since they were only giving me one day to make the payment. I told him I didn't have $754 to pay, then he asked me how much I could send in today and he would extend my foreclose another month to give me time to come up with the rest of the money.  I called Wells Fargo, they stated that nothing was wrong with my account,,, just a scam,,, DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR LOAN NUMBER.

The only time there is an escrow account is if you are buying the home, or refinancing it.  Once there is settlement, all those funds are disbursed.  It then has nothing to do with the loan, and foreclosure takes at least 6 months or more since you have to be in arrears with your monthly payment for at least 3 months. Furthermore, foreclosure is done by US mail, usually certified, return receipt so that they can prove you received notification.

DO NOT SEND MONEY. Person calling from 800 357 6675 left me a voice mail identified himself as Alex Anderson with Wells Fargo asked me to call him back on 954 278 7976. When I called him back he asked me how much I wanted my mortgage to be each month then stated to move forward with modification I needed to send him $200.00 via MoneyGram today. Told me I needed to call him from parking lot of Walmart and he would give me the name of attorney to send money to. I called Wells Fargo Mortgage and they did not have any notes on my account that they had called me. SCAM. I called Mr Alex Anderson back and told him I had talked to Wells Fargo and they had no record of calling me and he hung up.

Apparently, a black SUV took pics of our house and the driveway and down the street. They left a generic envelope on the door with a piece of paper with no business information and never knocked. It just has the notice (in engkish and spanish) of it being important and to call 1-800-357-6675 and "please be ready to give account number" but not any indication as to what account either (no date nor name). It did have this on the bottom: SPI-020-12.09

    Sad excuse of a scam.

Same vehicle showed up at a family member's house. The driver wouldn't share his name, parked midway in the long driveway and backed out so we couldn't get a plate number. He wouldn't explain why he was here or why he had to drop off the paper. A family member then called Wells Fargo to confirm it was legitimate.

Nothing like stopping the mystery novel right before the important stuff.  "A family member then called Wells Fargo to confirm it was legitimate"  OK, so you claim to have called Wells Fargo and asked if it was legitimate.  Was it?  If so, what was it about?  Why did they send this sneaky black SUV out to your house?

Received call from this number stating they were Wells Fargo Lending, and they wanted to do a loan modification to reduce my rate to 2.25 and to stop foreclosure action on my property.  My property is not in foreclosure... Ronald (foreighner) wanted me to pay $886 to my clear my escrow so he could do a permament modification.  I called Wells Fargo, they have no such person or department calling people. It is a scam.. Do not give them money.  They manage to know private info so it seems to be real but they are not.

They didn't call, but left a door tag envelope hanging on my front door, no knock or door bell ring, with a card in it stating "Dear Borrower: Urgent Notice: Please contact your mortgage servicer immediately at 800-357-6675 Thank you". Card said the same thing in Spanish on the other side of the card. I speak to my mortgage company occasionally any they only call me on my cell phone or send letters on their own marked paper and envelopes.
