I got a call from "James Kennedy" who has a strong Latino accident. The caller ID showed this was from Kingston, Jamaca. He said I won his company's lottery of $5.5 Million today! I asked him how much was this going to cost me. He hung up. I called him back and we talked for 22 minutes whereby his company was going to show up at my house with my bank check and a wrecker with my New Mercedes. All I had to do was send Minnie Wilkerson of Red Level, AL $850 via Wal Mart Money transfer.  I wanted to set up a sting so I went to Wal Mart the next morning to inquire if I could direct a money transfer to a specific Wal Mart location only. I wanted to alert the local police to be there to arrest the person trying to access the funds. The customer service person said no, once it is in the Wal Mart system, the receipant may access the money from any location. I told her what was going on and that I wanted to have the police catch the person trying to acquire the funds. She said I was one of the few that did not fall for this scam. I will expect another call shortly as to why I had not sent the money and I am going to tell him I don't have the money right now so take it out of the $5.5 million and give me the change. I bet he cusses me out like so many others. More to come!

Hope you are sitting down when your next  phone bill arrives.  A 22 minute international long distance call to Jamaica is NOT low cost.

Could be--a regular had posted  (in the past) that some 876 calls would be $10 a minute or more & part of the scam.

I have heard as high as $20 and $25 a minute.  There was poster the other day who said he had a bill for $100 but didn't state how long he was on with them.  That is all hearsay so you can take those figures with a grain of salt.
