I had a membership, paid for it too and then cancelled when I started using a realator.  a year later, today, I get a call nothing and since I know that it is them, I am going to call file a formal complaint since I had asked them a year ago not to call me and take me off of thier list, so they are breaking the law.

They called and when I said "hello" they would not answer me. I could hear a business in the background.  They did this three time in fifteen minutes.  I dialed *69 and a guy answered who told me I had reached RealtyTrac and that he had not personally called me.  I told him his company is shady because if you google their number, we all have the same complaints!!!  I put the number on my Call Block list.  Idiots. I realize the economy is tough and it's hard to find a job, but I'd rather collect cans than work for this sleezeball company.  They are the equivelent of crack dealers in their "scuminess."

They called my cell phone looking for my wife and when I told them she was at work they immediately hung up.  I was trying to ask them if I could take a message for her but i couldn't get the first word out of my mouth before they hung up.

I also had the problem of getting calls with nobody on the other end after I cancelled my RealtyTrac trial account.  When I tried to reach them on their 800 numbers, the phones never rang but I was disconnected.  I was able to find a local number that worked.

Eventually, I talked to a manager who said that they have an autodialer for their sales team and maybe it is switching incorrectly so that there is no salesman on the line.  He said he would look into it and also put my number on the do-not-call list.

If you have this problem call RealtyTrac and ask for a manager.  If the 800 numbers don't work, use (949)502-8300.  Tell the manager that you want your phone number put on the do-not-call list.

and what will you sue them for? you gave them your phone number.  just call them and ask you to remove you from the system.  Duh

RealtyTrac also will NOT send a confirmation to when your subscription ends. I'm now trying to fight getting my 49.95 back b/c their confirmation email AND the page that you sign up on doesn't state just how long the trial is!

i subscribed and canceled to realtytrac today...and i already got a call...i reported it to the FCC. everyone else should too...calling them back seems to be how to make them stop...i only subscribed to get information about a house from another website...the website said the house was foreclosed and 49,00 dollars, and they said it was in pre foreclosure and 148,000...they don't even know what's going on...hopefully they aren't in the stealing identities business, just in the annoying and harassing business.

I signed up for free trial. I was auto enrolled for monthly payments after the trial was up. I can't recall if there was a warning about this. They were unwilling to work with me because I didn't cancel the free trial within the time allotted. I never used the service beyond an initial search. They were unwilling to grant a refund for service I never knew I was paying for until I saw my bank statement. The customer service representative was unwilling to escalate my call to someone who cared about the misunderstanding. I'm not surprised to see a long history of bad business. I wasn't called yet, but I will know how to respond if I do. Beware the fine print.

You should contact your bank's fraud detection agency... I did and they are blocking all transactions from RealtyTrac. They do bad business and their websight offering free subscription is very deceiving... lesson learned!

Even though you cancel, you still have an account on their system.  What I did was log in to my account and changed my phone number to 666-6666.  Then go into your Email preferences and uncheck everything.  That should stop the calls and emails.  They really should delete the account when you end the trial, or at least have an option to do so.  This company is very unscrupulous.

Yes, I did cancel a free membership with Realtytrac today and that's when I received the call; about an hour after I cancelled!!  This website was useless; hope they don't charge me!!  I cancelled within the alloted free trial period; wish I had known about this beforehand!!

Used RealtyTrac for barely half day and realized that the site really doesn't offer very much information, so, canceled - just got a call from this number. No message - pretty annoying.
