Try this:  When they call again offer your Visa number right up front, which of course is 0000 0000 0000 0000, expiring 00 00 and with a 3-digit validation code of 000.

When I get the calls from 1-000-000-0000, it says to call 1-800-318-0166 and so I called and someone answered.  I ask what company this was and they told me: CASH FLOW 500.. Finally someone was nice to me because I asked if they would stop calling my number and so far they have. So maybe someone out there can let everyone know, this is who has been calling forever.

I get this number at least 3 times a day and have for the last few months.

I refuse to answer, If it's important then they shouldn't mask their number!

000-000-0000 (out of area) showed up on my phone the other day so I answered it and the woman asked me if I was able to take a survey.  I said maybe, it just depends on how much you're paying me to do so.  She said she wasn't paying so I said too bad, I only do pay survey's and hung up on her.

What is going on with this 000-000-0000 number.  This has been going on fortwo weeks or longer.  No one is there when I answer.  This is a business and we don't have caller i.d.  When I #69, I just get all the zeroes.  There should be some kind of legislation on this.  Who can I call?

I have received a call two days in a row from 000-000-0000. The first time, I answered it and it started ringing, then a woman picked up and said "Hello". I was like, "hello? Who is this?" Then she asked to speak to someone that was not me, and I told her she had the wrong number. She said "Oh. Well, this phone number is qualified to receive a free phone from Verizon." I stopped her and told her that I was already on a cell phone and did not use Verizon, so obviously I didn't need a new free phone-then I hung up.

I got almost the exact same call the next day (even asking for the same wrong person), but this time it was a phone offer from Sprint. It sounded exactly like the same woman, with an Indian accent. Obviously a scam to get my information

Did not pick up and they hung up as soon as voicemail picked it up.

Its easy to intentionally misconfigure a PBX or phone system to give out bad call ID data.  Where my wife works, their system is so screwed up that when she calls me it shows up as "Private Caller" or "Unknown" or once in a while as her company's name.  She has a known idiot who's in charge of their telecom.

What I don't get is why tele-idiots think people will pick up on "Unknown" or "Out of Area" or "Unavailable".... or even an 800/888 number.  I guess enough do. O.o

I'm in the process of setting up my computer to auto-answer and weed out these calls so I don't even have to hear the phone ring anymore.  I'd just drop my land line if it weren't a good emergency line (911, electricity out, etc).

Calls from 000-000-0000 are mostly from telemarketers or collection agencies.  If the calls are persistant like numerous calls per day, it's most likely a collection agency.

I'm not sure what the laws are regarding telemarketers, but I know that "caller ID spoofing" is highly illegal for a collection agency to use. If you answer and it is indeed a collection agency, quickly report them to your state Attorney General's office, as well as the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov).
Both these government agencies are responsible for consumer protection and should always be notified if you are being harrassed by ANY collection agencies (especially ones that resort to illegal means of contacting / harrassing you against the FDCPA guidelines).

Don't know who this is, but they call frequently.  I'm assuming it's a bill collection agency because of some unpaid bills.

I was telling my husband today about when this number called me a few months ago and a few hours ago he recieved a text from 1000000000 (seriously not joking that he got the text the same day I told him about the number) and all the text showed was another number (8182613700).

I don't have a blockbuster account and neither does he, nor have we ever had one. I have no idea what this number could be.
