same thing happened to me as all of you.
i rang this number 02-8268-3600 ( ICT) and they have removed me from the list.
It is worth calling them.

I've had the same problem. I called ICT Australia and it appears that one of the major banks that I have accounts with employ this marketing company to sell on their behalf. If you call them on 02 8268 3600 they will remove you from their list. The reason they hang up (apparently) is because the dialler computer is set too fast for their people to keep up with!

Definitely a company called ICT they do work for Westpac St Georges etc.
You can get off their list by calling (02) 8268 3600.
They are essentially insurance sales.

They are aware of the issue but don't seem too concerned.
I would definitely suggest calling up your bank, tel company etc. and complain about this company.

I've been receiving calls from 0289154600 and 0281983800 for months now. It seemed to break over Christmas and has started becoming more frequent in the  last few weeks. I've answered on a number of occasions only to hear... nothing. Being telemarketers one would think that they may want to talk with me about whatever they're peddling. This being said, it makes no sense to me at all for these nuisance calls to continue. I've returned the call and also have been confronted by silence. I worked in telemarketing once myself (still trying to come to terms with that   ;)   ) and understand that to garner new customers it is quite pertinent to give out information. In general the calls don't bother me anymore or less than calls from people that do want to talk to me but, as I despise the cold-canvassing tactics and the sales of client lists, the whole thing just becomes an ethical irritation. Whatever, whoever... I don't really care. I am going to try a few of the suggestions above and try and get it stopped though. Even in the age of telecommunications and the internet... I'm sure karma can be a real [***]   ;)

i too have received calls from (02) 8915 4600 and tried in vain to call them back. I've called Telstra my provider and they have given the number to their department which investigates ph. number abuse. I think i will call st george (my bank) and check they haven't been f'n with me too.

yep, got one of these today and a similar number last night. God help them if it continues - they should be careful as they don't know who they could be calling....
Maybe someone should set up an autodailer up on their number....

I too have been recieving a call from this number every day since the 26th of March at the same time and it won't answer. When you call it back nothing happens.

It has now reached the stage because of all the unknown telephone callees that we have to keep the landline "off the hook" in other words "engaged" so that all calls go straight through to Message Bank. I am in poor health and the a phone ringing continually has to be answered. Some days and nights there have been up to eleven [11] calls registered through Message Bank.

Yes. 0282683600 does work. And remember it's not their fault they have your number. Your bank sent out your personal details, probably even gave them an account balance too. Pointless selling insurance to the bankrupt, eh? I think a nice conversation that everyone can hear in the queue will sort this [***] out.

the banks outsource their insurance to aegon. aegon (and a couple of other companies) get ict to phone people who were sent a brochure about an insurance available to them. the computer dialler calls people until it gets a hold of them. the computer is a machine that doesnt think to call back at different times, or wait a while before calling back. ict dont have your account balance. the telemarketers dont see your phone number. a call comes through and the person ready to talk to you can not tell how many times youve been called. they are doing their job. just ask them to take your number off the list. and call the relevant company, your bank or clothes company, to whom you gave your personal details, and tell them to take you off all marketing campaigns. and stop abusing the [***] out of strangers who just need a job. The only way to stop this kind of selling is if  no one ever buys anything over the phone. People do though. People like buying things over the phone. Just not you. get over yourselves.

I just got a call from them. It was for commInsure (http://www.comminsure.com.au/). I'm guessing commonwealth bank have outsourced their call center off shore as the line was scratchy.

I WAS a Ezibuy member but not anymore if they are going to sell my information

The Ezibuy website says it doe not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.

Surely this is a breach which could be reported to The Privacy Commissioner?

I was once made to make telemarketing calls whilst working hotel reception. As I was on an evening shift on my own and knew they had print outs of the calls I made I would ring the numbers provided and mute my phone. I never wanted to make the calls, it wasn't part of my job role but I needed the hotel reception job.

Yes, they have called me several times over the last few days on my mobile. I never answer a number I don't know and I'm glad now after reading all these emails. I also tried calling it on my work phone but there was no answer. If it's DODO then shame on you.

As they are during work hours I have missed them until today, when I answered there was silence for a momont then they appeared to hang up. I am glad I did a yahoo search on the number as I thought it was a private person harassing me. Its good to know there is a site available to expose these [***]. Thanks
