Interesting.....I recieve3d 2 calls as well however, when I returned the call on 202-239-8343 I got "this number is no longer in service.  Initially I was a bit scared but given the amount of scams out there, did my homework this time and was quite pleased to see all the feedback regarding this scam so thank you all for reporting it for the rest of us to read.

Note the 202 area code. Criminals probably do enough homework of their own and use the DC area code to appear legitimate and get a better chance at pilfering your money. The calls most likely are coming from India or Pakistan. Any random calls from the 202 area code are best avoided entirely as they're synonymous with con artists.

I just got a call from "Mark Dawson," claiming to be from the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, from a DC number: 202-239-2003. He proceeded to ask me about some bizarre diet pills I'd purportedly ordered online in 2008.

Thing is, I've never needed diet pills in my life... and I sure as hell wouldn't order any medication online.

I left all this info on the voice mail of some guy at the DEA.

I received a text from 469-217-9445.
