Yes, this is the second time that I got a call from this number, The first time was a guy with an Indian accent, now its a voice of a woman with American accent.... Don't fall for their scam, call the local police and report it....

A late report. I received a voice mail last week. It was a normal American accent. It notified me of an IRS fraud investigation, asked that I should not ignore the message and call back. I called back. The other side had a heavy accent that felt Arab / Pakistani / Indian. I asked him if he was a Muslim a**h***. He started yelling in some foreign language. I hung up. No more calls since then.

Call received today. It for sure is a scam.  Do not cal them back.  They quote irs codes and say they will file the law suit and within 3 hours someone will come arrest us for none paid back taxes.

Received two calls today from 202-241-9749, claiming I needed to call the IRS A.S.A.P. or there will be a big penalty.

Yeah "Julie smith" called me too, can't you go to prison for a very long time for posing as a government agency?

Left computer-generated-voice message from "Julie Smith" claiming to be from the IRS and that I should call immediately. I think I'll pass and instead report to the FTC.  If I were to owe the IRS I would received certified mail. *SCAM*

You would get a letter from them,  but it won't be certified.  Owning my own company for over 30 years,  I have received plenty of letters from them.   Regular windowed envelope with return address.
And of course,  I have never had the IRS contact me over the phone except for an ongoing situation,  however I was first and initially notified by good ole USPS Granny mail. (Not certified)

I'm sure you are right, but these people are hard core Indian scammer/extortionists located in India and as such beyond the reach of US law.  Call blocker might help.

Good one Nino! Yes autobot Julie Smith of IRS left a cut off message indicating no name of who she was calling. Said same as others above. How unprofessional of you scumbags. Only difference there was a 'I need you' included in the beginning of the message. Whatever..Am not calling back.

I received a call in April 041714 from another IRS agent then too. Was spam call too. That number was 773 747 8709. It was a live man without an accent. At the time I got his number and told him I would call back. Didn't call back. Looked up number instead and saw spam there.

Be on the lookout..Don't answer calls from numbers you don't know.

Since they are spoofing numbers nowadays, someone might find out where they are and shut down their tower or fry their motherboards..We can only hope.

Thanks for the info, Rex. I got a robocall from them just this morning claiming it was from the IRS and asking me to return the call. I didn't call back, and reported it to the IRS on their website and to magicJack via live chat, thanks to the detailed info you provided.
