- sulky replies to Rich N.| 1 replyI just received the same call about a problem with my computer at 11:58 AM. I played along with with this idiot until 12:15 PM. He asked me if I was next to my computer, I said yes (but I was not...I was watching TV). He then said to go to the search bar and type in these letters...he gave me one letter at a time... A as in apple, E as in elephant etc,. I deliberately kept making mistakes and had him repeat the instructions about 6 times. What he wanted me to type was www.aeroadmin.com. Every time he said type www., I typed the word wwwdot. He kept saying No, not dot, the symbol for dot. I had to keep from laughing at this jerk. He then said the entire word....aeroadmin...but with his Indian accent it sounded like arrow. So I kept repeating arrowadmin until this nutjob finally gave up and after 17 minutes, the call finally went dead.

Everyone should string these types of calls along....it takes up their time from calling others and it has to make the wonder what the hell just happened. LOL.

- T Tech replies to sulkyI just had the same call come through. The guy had a heavy middle eastern accent. He said he was from Geek Squad, I about choked up my Cheerios because when I questioned him again he said, "Ya know, da Geek Squad"...I've talked to Geek Squad plenty of other times and immediately recognized that this is not a Geek Squad rep. So I told the guy, "Huh, I've never talked to a Geek Squad rep that sounds like this," ...and I hung up on him.
- IzzyAbout one time per day I get a call from this number. It is always the same...I answer, (identifying the business and my name), and then dead silence on the other end. After saying hello a second time and I realize that this is the call where no one responds, I hang up.
- KeithKeep getting a call from this and other numbers telling me they are calling about the windows in my computer. I am not interested and tell them to stop calling me but they keep calling back. I am on the do not call list and tell them this they still call back

- JWith a this guy called today named Joseph with a very heavy accent says he was from Windows and needed to fix my computer. Told the guy to quit calling me I don't own a computer. I've had about 5 to 10 different numbers calling between Windows and Microsoft saying they need to fix my computer. I blocked a number every time that I get a new number it's getting ridiculous though.

- Hannah| 1 replyIn my opinion, this is an extremely dangerous scam. They have tried for over a year to get me to allow them to be able to roam around my files & steal information. I checked with Microsoft & they replied they know about this scam. BUT WHY ARE THEY NOT INFORMING THE PUBLIC? To someone not familiar with scam artists of this type they can be robbed.
They hung up on me when I said "Oh your calling me so I will allow you on my computer to fix this problem that.....". They just called me again but are blocked. TYPE:. TERRORISTIC- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Prank
- BigA replies to HannahThis is one of the most highly publicized scams around. It has been warned about in newspapers and magazines, as well as websites, that are too numerous to mention, TV, and radio as well. What more would you like them to do?
- ByrdieLoveI have been getting calls from this # sometimes 2x a day for a week now. After reading some of these posts it is the same scammers who locked my computer screen until I called a # for "them to fix it". Of course they wanted a credit card # and a charge of over 200.00 for the repair. I politely told them I was calling Webroot. He said Webroot can't help you, I can.... I hung up, and called Webroot. Now they're at it with my cell phone. This guy also had a heavy Indian accent too. They called my cell this morning as a matter of fact. There has to be some way of prosecuting this crooks. Humans are the most evil and devious of all who walk the earth.....
