Called during the afternoon two days in a row. No message left.

No message, do not answer if i don't know the name or number (District of Columba?)  National 'DO NOT CALL LIST', HA.  Everybody has at one time or another dealt with somebody who will call.  Politicos, charities, polls and such.  Best way to get everybodys number and waste our time.

mine came up as AICR; american institute for cancer research; beyond annoying.

The Do Not Call registry does not apply to political messages nor to charitable organizations.  You will have to cancel with them either in person, if a person answers the call, or send an email or letter requesting no further calls to your number.

Good luck on this.  I have appreciated everyone's comments in regards to these numbers.  I have just recently gotten caller ID and I find it fascinating that I can find an answer to these questionable phone numbers that come through the caller system just by typing them into Google.  Thanks!

Seems this number has been resurrected by the spammers.  Based on name I believe it sounds politically based.  I did not answer because it was identified as spam , out of the area and sounds politically motivated.   Sadly this seems to mark the end of what has been a really quiet week or so.

Loving that Verizon is being proactive to help fight phone spam.  Another call in less than a week, number silences so not hearing call ring and not leaving message, as if they never called.
