Same jazz as the rest of you guys, surprised this number is still going strong, I was eligible for $9000 or so grant. I informed them they were eligible to kiss the fattest part of my [***] and hung up.

This guy call with a heavy accent trying to give me free money.  He then asked for my accound number or credit card number. I got into an argument about how I'm not giving my info out to a complete stranger and he was like we arent going to do anything with it.  I asked him to send a check and he said they werent authorized. If he was from the governement then they could send a check.  I also suggested he put the money on a Visa gift card and he was insistant that the only way was credit card or account number.  I'm not an idiot, but I did keep him on the phone for about an hour asking questions.  When he said he had other calls to make I told him I had been keeping him on the phone so that he would be able to make less calls and hopefully scam less people and the idiot continued to talk to me. He gave me a website usgrantstreasurydepartment.gov but I'm not typing that into my browser. He got really mad when I told him it would probably give my computer a virus. "The government wouldn't give your computer a virus!" I then laughed on the phone and he told me he would give me 24 hours to look over the site and call me back tomorrow.  I said awesome can't wait till you call back and make sure you set aside about an hour and a half so I can waste more of your time.  He said "ok." I kinda hope he calls back, Friday's are always really boring at work and I would love to find something fun to do.

When I answered the phone, the person immediately hung up without saying anything. When I returned the call, I just got a recorded voice saying, "Sorry, your call cannot be completed."

Persistent [***], they have been calling me for months. Always the same Indian caller, always the same $10,000 offer, and I feed them a new story every time, last week I was dead even. Fun trolling this guy!

got a call from this scammer promising me money i would never have to pay back..i got into a long argument with him and believe i pissed him off...told him to stop calling...has been ringing the phone 2-3 x a day for the past week...when will these pos moron understand that we know they are scammers and just give it up.....

The call was the same as all the above. I really wished someone could catch these people!!

LOL!!! I get these calls several times a day.  This one called me today and since I didn't recognize the number I answered it as United States Secret Service.  Immediate click

They are calling me daily and have my personal information such as name, phone, address. I am concerned.  Each time they call as soon as I ask a question, I am hard of hearing, they hang up. When you call it back it is blocked.

They have called me repeatedly saying I am eligible for a "Grant" from "The United States Government" for $10,000.  I have asked them to remove my phone number; they keep calling.

I have received repeated calls from this number.  Nobody responds when I answer the ring.  I want this number to no longer have the ability to call me.

Keep getting these calls and I have told them multiple times to take my number off the list. I finally snapped at the lady with a very heavy accent claiming she was calling from Washington D.C. and it was regarding a grant. I feel sorry for the people who fall for this scam. She ended up trying to mimic everything I was saying which I highly doubt anyone from the "Government" would do... I just don't understand why they can't somehow put an end to this type of scam.  

A lot of these calls are coming from India or other foreign country's where we have no jurisdiction.

It's an identity theft ring trying to scam info out of you to rip you off. Just block the number.

Got a call from this # saying the government has 10 grand for me and they needed my bank information. Informed the poor [***] that the Government already has that information on file since I work for the Government. How rude.... He hung up on me!

I received a call from this number saying they were from the federal government giving away a free grant of $10,000.  I told them I didn't believe it was real and she could send me the information certified mail (I did not give her my address).  She said "You are dealing with the Federal Governement" she told me to go to www.grants.gov.  I asked if my name would be on the website.  she said it was only an application site and that's why she was calling me.  I said that I had not applied for anything and "thank you for your time" and hung up.

it's an internet caller also, so would be hard to trace, but don't respond to it.

So I first got a call from 202-470-2490 stating I had been picked for a $10,200 government grant.  Afterwards they gave me a confirmation code JV102.  I was to provide this to the processor so they could place the money on my debit card.
I needed to call 206-317-1435 and provide the above code.  I called and was greeted by Christina Gomez she told me in order for me to get the money I needed to pay a $190 registration fee so that I would not be taxed or have to pay back the grant.  She told me to purchase a greendot MoneyPak card and once I have this to call her back on extension 212.  I called her back and gave her the number on the back of the card.  She then told me that I would need to wait ten minutes before the funds would be ready.  After waiting she then told me to finish the process I needed to contact the Federal Reserve Bank to finish the transaction. This number 646-583-2599 when I called this Ben Ramirez got on the line and verified my identity and then told me to call back in 15 minutes while the processing completed.  I waited 15 minutes and called him back and then he told me he needed to check on the processing as there was something wrong with the transaction so I waited got disconnected twice but I kept calling back to check as they said that they did not disconnect me. After 2 more minutes he came back and told me that the funds could not be transferred to my bank because state to state transfer over $8000 requires PPI  (Payment Protection Insurance)  this would cost me another $600 that was to be placed on 2 greendot MoneyPak cards in $300 denominations.  After losing the $190 I chose to play with him.  I made up fictitious numbers and then played dumb as to why the funds weren't on them.  Finally I called Chritina back like she told me and let her know I got my money.  Even though I did not I told her she could close my file now because I did and she sounded confused and then hung up on me.

I also received a call from this number - 20 2 4702495 as showing to be calling from Egypt - saying I was to be a recipient of a government grant. I have reported this number to InterPOL who will be investigating and hopefully putting a stop to this.
