I received the call from same number 5 minutes ago. It was an automated answering machine. I called the same number and got a response that the number you calling is unreachable. Can someone block this number or intercept who is making call via this number to reduce our time answering this call.

I received this call too and couldn't understand him with his heavy Indian accent.  I did understand that the police were going to be at my house to arrest me in 30 minutes.  I have Law Enforcement in my family and I KNOW this is not the way it works.  I told the scammer that it would be impossible for the police to arrest me because I was not at home.  He said "Oh they will find you".  When I kept asking questions and wanting clarification (I happen to be working with the IRS because they didn't receive all pages of my 2013 tax return so I had to re-send last week) the scammer hung  up on me.  I called the IRS and they asked me to go to www.treasury.gov/tigta and report this scammer.  Please report if you have been contacted so these scum bags can be caught and prosecuted!  I called the number back and messed with him and when he figured out I was messing with him he started calling me a [***] and saying something in another language.  

This is the second time I received a call.  The first time was from 202-506-8045 also a scam number.  I returned the call the first time and I had so much trouble understanding the guys accent (kept asking him repeat himself) he got fed up and yelled at me and hung up!  

You would think they would get someone that speaks english to make these phone calls! But, thank goodness, criminals are stupid!

I called the 202-506-8798 back and it was a call center and no one spoke clear english. the man at first said that Jesse Brown said to keep harrassing me (exact words) then he said it was a Jessica Brown. It is a scam and call the better business bureau. They will keep calling and it will get extreme.

I called the Better Business Bureau and this is a big scam. They adviced me to call Tresury Inspector General IRS 800-366-4484. Make a complaint. keep calling until they comply.

SCAM SCAM...omg terrified me can't they stop this guy!!! how the hell did they get our number???

There are a couple of possibilities:
1 - If you've *ever* entered your phone number on *any* web site... and that web site gets hacked... Then your number is potentially everywhere. The site that got hacked might not even realize it got hacked.
2 - They might not have "got" your number anywhere. They could be just using an automatic dialer that goes through your area code and dials every possible number. It doesn't take that long (and time is something these lowlifes have plenty of) abd with Internet phone connections it hardly costs them anything.

I just got a call from this number and they left a recorded voicemail. Stating I owed the IRS money. I know I do not owe the IRS any back taxes. This is completely fraud.

I also got a call from this number claiming to be from the IRS and telling me or my attorney to call right away on a very urgent matter. The recording said I needed to contact them before they started legal proceedings (or something to that effect). I panicked and immediately called the number and got a voicemail recording saying the mailbox was full.  I then thought I would google the number just in case to see if it was from an IRS number, and I am glad I did as I see that it was a scam!

Got a call on my answering machine.  Called back right away but the voicemail box was full.  I panicked because we recently moved some 401k money around and thought we may have missed a step!  Glad this forum is here.

I also got the same call from 202-506-9863 and 202-506-8656 in the last two days

Just got a call from this number. It's a VERY POORLY recorded message, with a bored sounding woman trying to threaten you. It's the SAME scam as all other IRS phone scams. Please don't fall for it.

I got this phone call when i had a day off at home, I was so pissed off when he said call from IRS I'm about to get arrest, i knew it was a scam they try to get you info and also try to scam your money! i was being so rude to this jack as* and hang up the phone lol

I received a call from this number claiming to be from the IRS and they want money. They just left a message on my answering machine.

The message said "The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. I'm calling fro the office of T--- Gray? from the IRS and the hotline to my position is 202-506-8798. I repeat the # is 202-506-8798. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any legal action against you"
Shut these people down!!

I wish there was something we could do to turn the table on these people. I got the call while on vacation and worried about it the whole time!

Got the call today,  realized right away it was a scam. I google the number and got here. just ignore if they call again. Have a good day.

I have just received a automatic phone message from this number as well saying I needed to call the IRS, not what I needed today, so I called and sat on hold with IRS wondering what was going on when I decided to google this number found this forum, what a waste of time!! glad to know it was a scam!
