Received call today from a woman with heavy African accent said she was from IRS ,I should call back or actions would be taken.  BIG SCAM

I just got a call from this number and said they where from the IRS also....

IRS need to clamp down on these phaggot mexican/indian calling me acting like IRS.

We've gotten this call multiple times this week here in Washington.  I looked the number up online and saw these posts.  Knew it had to be a scam since IRS never calls but uses the postal service.  Good to see that others are catching it too but I'm sure many have been taken advantage of.

I got the same call and it was obvious that it resembles a scam. They must think we are fools.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Finally called this 202-506-9686 and got an answer, he said no he didn't call and it was not an IRS  number...I guess he didn't like unwanted calls.

I have received two messages on my answering machine and I'm in Reno, Nevada.

I have received two telephone messages from a woman with a heavy accent stating I was going to be in serious trouble with the IRS and gave the referenced telephone number to call back.  Recognizing it immediately as a scam, I did not return the call.

Thanks to all who posted here!   I have received quite a few call from this number in the last 3 days, and now I will be blocking it.

In Milledgeville, Georgia, at least 45 people have either reported being called or actually lost money in this IRS scam.  One person lost almost $16,000!  There have been four front page stories in locals newspapers warning citizens about it.  Local law enforcement in Milledgeville is working with the federal government to investigate and try to stop this fraud.
