I received an automated message saying that "the IRS will file lawsuit against you". It's obviously a scam.  The IRS ALWAYS contacts you by mail.

Haha -- so did I...got the same call today, just before lunch.  Strangely, on my phone, the call came through on the screen as a call from Egypt, with country code +20, and city code 2 (Cairo).  Thus, when it came up on the screen, when I looked at it, it registered 20 2 XXX XXXX, and underneath the call said "Egypt".  But here's the kicker:  in my call log on my phone, it registered as a call from Washington, D.C., -- hence area code (202) XXX XXXX.  Really strange.  Called the number back from a different telephone, and a woman with a heavy accent answered the phone saying, "Internal Revenue Service".  I played along, but she really wouldn't say anything.  I asked her if she knew someone had hi-jacked this number in Egypt, and I could tell I caught her off guard.  I then asked her if she was in Washington, and when she didn't respond, I asked her again, and then asked her where she was.  She replied:  "Jupiter".  Still playing along, I asked her:  "The planet?" or the city "Jupiter" (wherever the hell that is!).  There was silence, then she hung up.  Man, the energy that people will pour into cheating and scamming -- never ceases to amaze, does it!  Thanks everyone for your info.

I phoned 911 in my area t report and she told me it was a definitely a scam. Do not even listen to them just hang up. Located in no. Suburbs chicago.

Got a message on my voicemail stating it was the IRS and I was being sued.  Good grief !  Did reverse phone look-up and informed this was a scam.  I figured it was because I don't owe anything.  I think I'll call back and mess with them like a couple of others have done.  I hope no one sends in money.

Numerous scam calls this week and in past weeks from the "IRS"!!  Sooo scary!!
Why do we have to put up with this crap when supposedly we have blocked unwanted calls/??   Any ideas on how to stop these stupid sewage dwellers?
