The other difference is I did give my address :/ fml. Don't know what to do.
They are claiming to be Fiona Lews and Micheal Schofield
(202) 470-6833 was the number they wanted me to call and
(202) 697-9205 was what they called me from.
There are children in my home so I feel VERY dumb!

I got a call from 202-292-6660- Susan. She had all my information and claimed I had been selected to receive $7000.00 grant but I had to call Mike Parker at 202-697-9816 to verify that I had been notified. Everything sounded great until they asked me to send $350.00 to Western Union ! I asked why I had to send the money and they immediately hung up! I googled Mike Parker and found out it was a scam! After reading the complaints I discovered most of the people making complaints had one thing in common with me-we all had recently filed for student loans so that's the link! I mean how would they know our information otherwise? !

They Asked Me to Send 215 Dollars to a Charity&iWould Recieve  8400.00 in Grant Money From The Government. Why Do I Have to Send Money to Recieve Money? IKnew Then it Was a Scam&Did a Search On it. Glad iDid But iStill Don't Know How They Got My Information.

i have been getting the same calls from these scammers that the rest of you have. thing is now that they are using a 5 digit number which is 636-60. i cant remember the original number that "richard green" and somebody with the last name "brown" called me from, but they claimed that i had been randomly selected for an $8,400 grant from the u.s.treasury. i told them i wanted to speak to an actual american in my gov't because i couldn't understand what they were saying. now i've been getting calls from a foreign woman from the 5 dig number listed above telling me that the 8400 w/$215. fee was a scam and she tells me that its really 8000 w/ 210 fee. i told her i wanted to speak to someone who actually speaks english and she hung up but still calls me back. if i know anything about the u.s. gov't, it is that you only have one shot at a deal like this and if you refuse it they will go to the next one in line and would not continue to call. if the treasury dept wants to give me free money, i'll take it but not for a fee that they can't take off the top, and let me talk to someone who speaks english without a latino, hindu indian, or far eastern accent; but i will settle for a southern accent since i can tell by accent type if they're from alabama, texas or virginia.

OMG Just got that call- Chosen at random to receive 7000 grant to be used for paying debt or home improvements not gambling... and they had me write down a # and said to call back and verify with the Act. Manager Nicole Dowfon at 3026979241 and the guy was Indian could barely speak English, He asked some personal questions and I being naive said I was separated... now they have my address and number etc...

1-15-2014...... Got calls from... 202-697-9804 (DC) and  209-682-5880 (Cal)
My son was approved for financial aid and Pell Grant at Miami Dade College... 1-11-2014  he received a call from these blood suckers saying he was approved for a "Special Pell Grant" up to $7500...... Got Mom involved yesterday and we paid out $950 total, using 2 different money transfers for different reasons (Processing, State tax and one other) using Money Paks from Wallgreens Drug Store and of coarse the extra monies paid out would be repaid in addition to the Grant money.

They are very slick,...transferring to different people and getting more money each time... First they start out with a small, then double the amount needed to complete the transaction using bogus reasons.

Someone must be connected to the financial aid dept in DC (202 area code)... When they called they had my sons name and information including his cell phone numbers.

I received a call today form phone number "24" and the guy said I was awarded a random grant in the amount of $7,000.  I was automatically suspicious but since I am not working, hey it's $7,000 right?  I was driving at the time and couldn't wait to get home to look this up on line.
Then he asked me how I would like to receive it; 1) Western Union or 2) to my banking account.  I don't give out my bank account number so I chose #1 option.  He then gave me a confirmation number ans said I have to call 347-535-4487 and give them the confirmation number so that the transaction can be made.  So I called to see what the heck was going on.  That guy who answered said I had to buy a 'card' costing $4.99 and there has to be $200 on it.  Notice his wording "has to have $ on it".  So I asked who puts money on it? Me? He said yes and no one can access that card or use it.  Then I call him back and then the $7,000 will be transferred to a Western Union.  He said it was for security purposes.  I could not imagine how buying some kind of visa? card would providing security to me.  I kept asking questions and neither guy could speak good English, which was disturbing in and of itself.  
I finally got home and googled this random grants and the entire page was filled with warnings and the first listing was from BBB.   I told the that if he thinks he is working for a straight up company, he is not.  The page was filled with warnings and he kept trying to convince me how safe this is!!!
I read him some verbage form the internet warnings.......if you are awarded a grant, you don't need to pay ANY fee.  Watch out for SCAM artists with this.....yadda yadda.

Just got called from 222-222-2245 and told I qualified for $7000 in free grant money and needed to call 202-738-1123 to confirm my ID number.  When I called he said I needed to put $260 on a green dot card from Kmart to receive my $7000.  He told me I had to hurry cause time was running out.  I never left my house and he has called back 2 times since.  Do these people not realize that most people live paycheck to paycheck?!?!?!  He even asked if I could borrow the money.  These people just need to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
