i received a call from this # from "GARY". He had my address & phone number. He said i was picked from 15,000 people for a $8500 grant, but was transferred to "Nicole Smith" who persisted that a $220 western union money order was needed in order to obtain the check. I gave them my account info sadly, but was having second thoughts after i had already provided it..... I decided to google it & it brought me here. I definitley think this is a scam. "Nicole Smith" didnt even sound like she was from the states....

sounds chinese calls almost every after ive told them ive asked them to stop calling i answer telling them ive asked not to be called and tells me to next time not to answer says something bout federal funds. i swear im getting tired of this people!!!!!

I received a call from the same number about 850,000 grant from the US government. I need to know about the people that are calling me? should i trust them

caller stated I gad won an $8,500.00 government grant. Caller had my address and wanted me to verify personal information. When i asked for a call back number or website they hung up.

They called saying the same thing I gave them an account that we don't use and has no money, did they ever take out that money? Or do they just take the $250?

Received a call from this # stating that I was chosen out of so many people and the Govement was giving me 8000.00 some kind of grant all they need was a  credit card or any card to deposited the money on to keep asking if I had and account. Told them no but they new my moms address was told to go and by a gift card and they would call back.

A 1-202-618-9292 number called me and gave me the name" Stathen" smh

Never give out any personal information to anyone who calls you!

Same thing here.I recieved a call on my cell phone  from a "Charles". So I was asked to give a credit card or account information. I asked them to send me a check. "No they only do electronic deposits". I started to ask for a call back number. That wasn't possible. I told "Charles" this sounds like a scam!!

just received a call from 2026210743 a lady claiming to be from the federal government but sounded like she was middle eastern said i won an 8000 dollar grant asked for a bank account number so she could transfer the money, i told her i didnt have a bank account she hung up. i tried to call the number back a recording said the call could not be completed as dialed.... sounds pretty sketchy

I got a call from this number 202-621-0743 saying that I was selected by the government and that they were gonna give me some money that I don't have to pay back, since when the government gives money away like that and don't ask you to pay back?...I didn't give them the chance to ask me for anything I just hung up the phone it just sound it like a scam right away, this idiots think people are stupid they are just a bunch of parasites.

No!  For the love of Mike.  Does this sound legitimate to you?  I got a call from "Nicole" this morning.  As son as I started asking her question abut up-front costs, she hung up in me.  I dialed her right back and got a recoding that the number had been disconnected.  Really?  That fast?  Thisis a scam.

Got a phone call from this # 202-621-0743. I didn't answer because I was not familiar with the #. But as I thought about it, I decided to call the # back just in case but it did not go through. Its a scam!

Same number calls me daily!  I have asked them to stop, they always say they are with the government and never can answer questions I have.  Not to mention barely speak english.  When I call back, number not in service....

I get these calls every two or three days. I have been reluctant to answer after the first two calls from this number. I did some research on them and waited for the next call. Got te awaited call this morning and decided to answer it. An "Officer Stewart" was on the other end and told me I had been chosen along with 15.000 other eligible candidates to receive $8,500.00. "officer Stewart" sounded Indonesian but insisted he worked with the US Government. I asked him for his Rank or DOD identification number so that I could look him up but he refused to give it to me. These people are not with the government and should be avoided at all costs. You can use your phone to block the numbers they use. I recommend reporting them to your local agencies as soon as you can. This is a scam. Also, any person asking you for a card number or asking you to send money to them so that you are able to receive what they are offering is a swindler. If the government was truly offering you a grant they would not ask for this information and would ask only that you verify your name, age, and address. Anything more is beyond what they are authorized to ask. Also, there would be a way to reach them in return. These calls are not going to stop unless you do something about it on your own. They are scammers and there is no way to stop them as they are not bound by US telemarketing laws and restrictions. Do not give them money, do not give them personal information, do not allow them to keep calling.

Got same call and explained that I knew they were scam and never to call my # again- he responded with "f*** you" and hung up on me. Maybe we need to be more agressive with these guys.
