Received a call from this number this morning, 202-657-6058, stating they were the IRS and they are in the process of filing a lawsuit, need to call them right away.  I knew this wasn't the case and definitely didn't call back.

I got the same message and didn't call back either.

I received a call from 202 657 6058. They said IRS is filing a suit against me. Total scam - the IRS sends letters. I hope no one falls for this.

Digitized voice left message when I did not answer the call. Called from CID (825) 693-8844 but gave this number to return call.
"Hello we have been trying to reach you. This automated message should be considered as a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately 1-202-657-6058. I repeat 202-657-6058. Thank you."

I got the exact same robo-call claiming to be from the IRS. As another user noted, the IRS only contacts you by mail. This is definitely a scam. Don't call them back!

i got the exact phone message i called them back and asked how i would know they weren't a scam they hung up. everyone is right the irs does not call or send emails they notify by mail. thanks

I received a call from 875-893-8244, and got a recording of the IRS lawsuit against me. I hung up. Then this afternoon I got a call from 855-693-8544, it left a message on my phone to call regarding my case number but to call 202-657-6058.

Getting sick of all this spam calling.

I have gotten two calls today from 815-093-8844 and 845-493-8444. I answered both calls but its an automated system saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call 202-657-6058. I don't think so buddy!! *DO NOT CALL*

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Received a message last night from this number, it stated that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and that I should call this number back.

Had the same call, but the number they called from was 845 793 8444, and automated message said to call the 202 657 6058 number.

What happens if I called back and it just rang and rang and then i hung up. could they have hacked my phone now even though no one answered?

I got a call and the same exact message, it was a robot message saying the IRS is in the process of filing a lawsuit and they need case information..

I got the same exact message but on my caller id the number came up (865) 493-8944....but told me to call the 202-657-6058

I called back and someone answered and hung up the I called back but blocked my number and it just rang and rang

I DID return the call -out of curiosity.  A woman with an Indian accent told me the same thing. She gave me a case #.  At this point I knew it was a scam and told her I would get in contact with my CPA and he'll take care of it. Her response was "ok" and hung up.

I just recieved the phone call with the automated woman's voice from 875-093-8244 it's 10:30 a.m. est. It told me the IRS were filing a lawsuit against me as well. At the end of the message ot told me to call 202-657-6058

It's a comete scam people! DO NOT call them back. The IRS would never get in contact with you this was. If you really would like to know if there is a problem concerning you and the IRS, go to www.IRS.gov and look up phising in the keyword, as I just did.

My dad just got this bogus call and was confused.  I knew to Google it and found that you guys got the same stupid call and told him.  He laughed since he said they didn't even speak English well............not very good fraud people if you don't even know ENGLISH!!!  Ha ha!

Sima I called the number back like an idiot and the person on the other end spoke broken English then hung up on me. I thought I had heard about this scam where they get your phone number and use it for international calls so I called my phone provider and reported it. I also notified the irs via email to their phishing dept. also the phone provider suggested changing passwords on your computer to be safe. Hope this helps
