I also got the same message left from 875-893-8244 saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. It gave a barely discernible case number and call back number.  Sounded like a scam and I'm glad to read these postings to know I was right.

I got the same Robocall this morning but on the caller ID it showed a Florida number 239-868-2792. I called the 202 number to read them the riot act but no answer!

What do you think will happen if I gave them my name?  I was so confused I wasn't thinking clearly!

Yep, got the same robot call from 815-693-6544, Kwincien, Bozena saying last call from IRS call 202-657-6058.

Got the exact same message on our land line today.  Didn't call.  Will report.

These calls are not random.  They already have your financial information as well as your personal information.  You just verified what they already know.  They pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.  Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on calls you do not recognize.  Do not return the calls.  Do not talk to them.

You might want to change your CC or debit cards and any account numbers you might have with any financial institution.

This is a total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

Total scam.  Ignore, do not return the calls. Block them.  IRS does not initiate contact by phone.  Does not cold-call anyone.  Initial contact is always made by mail.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.   A tax  dispute is almost always a civil matter.  IRS has no power or authority over local law enforcement does not have the power of arrest and does not file lawsuits.   Only the DOJ files lawsuits.  All IRS determinations are subject to appeal.

i GOT THE SAME CALL YESTERDAY (12/8/14), BUT IT WAS FROM "pRIVATE cALL".  tOLD TO CALL 202-657-????, THE LAST FOUR DIGITS SORT OF FADED INTO THE BACKGROUND NOISE.  

THE PLOT THICKENS!  THIS MORNING AROUND  9:00AM, i GOT ANOTHER (PRIVATE NUMBER) CALL AND THE GENTLEMAN, MUMBLEED HIS NAME (DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL) AND HE WAS FROM THE IRS. WHEN I SAID "YES, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU! I FOUND MY SELF WITH AN OPEN LINE AND NO ONE TO TALK TO.

HAVEN'T HEARD ANOTHER WORD FROM THEM SO FAR. (1.55PM)

These are sneaky little creeps! My call came from 853-993-8244, but the digitized message was the same!

"Hello we have been trying to reach you. This automated message should be considered as a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately 1-202-657-6058. I repeat 202-657-6058. Thank you."

My phone company says that scammers now have computer programs where they can call from random numbers so they never show up the same on your caller ID, or appear to be from your local area!

Hmm I can get $10,200, because I a senior citizen. Should I call now,..........not, please add to the list.

I have received several calls stating they are IRS and filing lawsuit but I knew it was s scam when you hear the robot voice. Never returned their call.
