- JASON replies to TawanaI GOT 4 CALLS IN 20 MINITES FROM A MAN WITH A WEIRD ACENT! EVERYTIME HE CALLED I WAS NOT THERE AND THEY ASK IF HE WANTED TO LEAVE MESSAGE HE SAID NO AND HUNG UP! IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIND OUT WHO THIS IS!
- Navneet| 1 replyRceived call from 202-664-1271, saying I owed 400 dollars on a vacation package I purchased in 2004, using a visa card. Since I never puchased a vaction package, I asked him to verify the card number ., He has given reason that they don't keep record once the vacation package is purchased. As I got the same type of call 2-3 moths back where they know my name , but while verifying my address , they told wrong and they hang up when I told address is wrong. This a scam operation.

- brandonjpgot the call SEVERAL SEVERAL times on my cell phone (which is on do not call list) - if you don't answer right away then there's no one there - they never leave a message - but if you answer immediately, you're likely to get them. The caller had a VERY thick Indian accent and said this:
"In 2005 you purchased more than $400 on VISA card. Because of this you have been awarded a vacation at(some "Disney World summer resort") in Orlando, FL"
I said I wasn't interested and asked to be removed from their calling list. He just hung up, however, I've still received several more calls from the same number - brandonjp replies to NavneetI just read Navneet's post - maybe this is what he was trying to tell me - sounds about the same - something in 2004 or 2005 involving $400 or $500 on my Visa.....grrr...they keep calling
- BernadetteI got 2 calls with in 1/2 hour. I didn't pick up because I didn't know the number. I also tried to call it back and got the same as Scott.

whatever the hell this means but sounds like they are a verizon customer - ChrisAlso recieved the same call, 3 times to far. Vacation package 2005, summer bay resorts in Orlando FL, blah blah blah. Very thick Indian accent, coudn't understand them at all. Looked up Summer Bay Resorts in Orlando and called them. Also an Indian woman, but I think its just a coincidence. They had no idea what I was talking about. I think I'll let Summer Bay know someone is using their name in a scam, and let them sort it out with the proper legal authorities.
- TeresaI got three calls on my cell phone (unpublished) from this number today. I run my own business, so I pick up calls even when I don't recognize the number. I answered and they hung up right away.
This is ridiculous! - nonameThis guy called me and even mentioned mine and my family members name. I was shocked. I asked his details but he hung up. When I called the number it says voip user is not online. I checked all my credit info as he mentioned that I purchased $400 vacation package for florida vacation (which I never did). This is scary. Hope this guy is caught.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BrandyA guy with an accent called my house at 8:15 pm from that number looking for my boyfriend. He wouldn't leave a message so I yelled at him for calling at that time. We are registered on th do not call list and they get the info anyways.

- BrendaI received a call on my cell phone from this number at 12:01 pm today, and when I answered I thought it sounded like a bad connection saying "Hello?". I tried calling it back, but got no answer. I then did a search on the internet just as you all did.
If this happened and my Mom answered, she would likely try to give them the info, as she is forgetful and gets confused at times.
This needs to be stopped!- Caller: Unknown
- JeanI've had about 8 calls from this number over the past two days. I did not answer. I called and got the message that the WIP was not currently online and then decided to answer when they called agina 20 minutes later... it sounded like someone had dialed me without knowing... sounding like someone walking. I am calling my cell carrier to have this phone number blocked.
- MarkThese people are pretexting individuals to obtain one's S.S.N. As an investigator I received a call today and their scam was a $500.00 vactaion credit for Disney World three years ago. They will use whatever pretext comes to mind, DON'T give out any info, just hang up!
- Caller: Washington, DC
- ShirleyI've had 4 or 5 calls from these people - always the same story about the vacation in Orlando and they want $99 to reinstate the $400 vacation package I "bought" several years ago that is now expired. Caller has a strong India or similar accent. Funny - they hang up right away if you start questioning them. Especially when I start asking for details on my original "purchase".
- JenniferI have received missed calls from 202-664-1271 over the past two weeks. The first 3 times the person called, they called within 6 minutes of the previous call. They called me again today. I never answered it. When I did get around to calling the number back (I assumed it was either a wrong number or a telemarketer) a message came up saying that the number I called is currently not online and to please try my call again later. I thought that was wierd. About a week ago I answered the phone from a "Withheld" number and the person went on about how I had gotten a free trip to Orlando and he was from the hotel that I was supposed to go to in 2005. He went on about how my free offer was about to expire and did I want to renew it. He didn't give me a chance to talk but went on with this sales pitch and said I could renew this free offer for the one time low price of $200. He said that I'd pay over the phone and then he'd give me a website to get the reservation information and all that. I knew it was a scam when he said I had gotten a free trip in 2005. I don't remember ever winning a free trip and I'm always skeptical about anything free where I have to give them any financial or personal info over the phone. No thanks! Once he stopped talking long enough for me to respond to him I told him I wasn't interested and he hung up immediately. I was like, ok... I want to answer the phone one time for this 202 number so I can say no. Maybe they'll stop calling me then.
Does anyone know how they get your number?
