I received the same type of call from (845)693-8844 saying IRS was filing a suit against me and to call 2-2-684-3502. All the research I've done points to this being a scam. I've blocked the number...

caller said was from IRS and they are filing a law suit, final notice.

received this call saying that the irs is going to do a lawsuit against me to please call this number 202-684-3502. i tried to call back this number but just kept on ringing.  i contacted the irs and their is no lawsuit against me.  the irs also said that they would call me they would send papers in writing if that was the case.

Peter Jackson supposedly from IRS called and left message on my voicemail.  Said they were suing me, that I owed thousands of dollars in uncollected taxes (which we file and pay each year) from 2008-2013 after an audit was done by them.  First of all, IRS isn't that fast in doing an audit - 2013??  Really??  I told him I had received no information in the mail and that if this as indeed true, they would need to send me detailed information, otherwise I considered this call bogus.  I hung up.

Same as everyone else- the call is coming from outside the USA and they say they are the IRS is this is the final notice of the lawsuit against me.    Call them back at 202-684-3502.     Do not call them back and if the calls continue report the number to the FCC.

Recording said I was being sued by  the IRS. Called back but no answer.

Looks like I'm not the only one being sued by the IRS....

This # left a message on our answering machine claiming to be the IRS and that we were being sued.  Called back and when I started asking questions hung up on me and now won't answer the phone.  So angry.  This is a scam.  Shame on them for preying on senior citizens.

Received call from 202-684-3502 about lawsuit being filed by IRS and this being my final chance to settle. Luckily I checked this phone number out on the internet and found it to be a scam.

Basically they'll tell you in order to make the whole IRS thing go away you have to go get some Green dot money paks which are untraceable.  This is a total scam.

The calls originate in India or Pakistan.  They are spoofing local numbers.

I have received three calls from a 800 number and a recording left a message informing me that the IRS was attempting to contact me because they were filing a suit against me. When I tried calling the number back it was constantly busy. I was very confused about the whole thing. My taxes are in order and when I needed to straighten something out with the IRS in the past I received notice through the mail. I didn't think I would be sued without being given the opportunity to know about the problem or the chance to rectify said problem. I'm glad that I googled that number and found this information. I was a bit concerned. Thanks!

Called and left vm from 825-793-8045 saying final notice filing lawsuit and to call back at 202-684-3502. Thank goodness I searched the number after a small panic.

I got the same call today. Fortunately, I know the law. You can't notify someone by phone that you are suing them (unless Obama has recently changed the law with his phone and his pen!). However, this could be downright stressful for some unsuspecting people. This should be on Snopes.
