Someone called with a foreign accent saying that a lawsuit had been filed in my son's name and we were to call them on 202 684 6460.  When I called this number the man said he was Officer Jack Cooper of the IRS of Wash DC and wanted to know where my son was (by name). I gave them no information and said if there has been a lawsuit filed papers should be mailed to us but this sounds like a scam to me.  The man said ok and hung up. I called him back and spoke to him again and I told him he did not sound like a Jack Cooper (as he had a thick foreign accent and would not have an American name of Jack Cooper).  I told him that I knew this was a scam and to not call back.

Recorded message said he was from IRS and a lawsuit had been filed. When I called back, I blocked my number and there was no answer.  I tried again and a foreign accent gentleman answered right away saying his name was Officer William Black he asked for my husband, I told him he wasn't available right now. He would not state nature of call so I told him he could mail any information so he said he would be sending certified letter. You could hear the TV in the background.

202-684-6460 is registered to Roland Ruffin, W Pl SE, Washington Washington DC, according to phonenumberstar.com. However, a search of that name in Washington DC shows nothing. Phone # is probably spoofed.

I received a call from a man who left this number, 202-684-6460. who claimed to be from the IRS. He said a suit was being filed against my name and that I should call him back.
I'm sure this is a scam as my daughter received this same call last week.

Automated-sounding message on my voice mail from this number (202-684-6460).  Hard to understand and it was only a partial message because they started "speaking" before my machine started recording, but something to do with a lawsuit and to call them back.  I didn't call back because it sounded like a scam.

Just got a recorded message saying something about a the IRS and a lawsuit.  It was difficult to understand the caller.  I called the number and the guy answered saying that it was Officer Jack Cooper with the IRS.  When I asked the nature of the business, he hung up.

We have received several calls from 202*684*6460 saying that the IRS was about to file a lawsuit against us for tax fraud for the 2008-2012 tax returns.  The man with a heavy accent (Indian, Pakistani, or similar) said that they had tried visited our home to serve the papers on two occasions, but no one was home.  We told them it was BS.   Tried to make us listen to them read the action without interruption over the phone.  We told them it was BS.  We have been audited before.  We know how the IRS works....They do NOT call.  They do NOT file a lawsuit.  BS. I will report it to TIGTA.

Recorded message saying law suit against me and to call number back. I hung up and did not call back. Checked caller ID and had multiple calls from same number. I  figured it was a scam and if someone was really suing me they can have their lawyer summons me in person by knocking on my front door or send a cerified letter. Jerks!

I have had 2 voicemails today from this scam. It seems to begin with dept of (garbled) and then the threat of the lawsuit.  The voicemail instructed me to call or they would have to contact the local law enforcement.  I forwarded this to the NC Attorney General's scam section and hope that is the end of it since I'm on the do not call roster.

They are saying the police are going to come and arrest me if I do not pay the IRS $4126.00 today and I am not allowed to call anyone about this matter. They stated I had to follow directions by going to a place such as CVS to get a Federal Tax Day Card with the amount owed to them on the card. I had to be on the phone with them while i was doing each task they told me to do to resolve this issue. I was then going to be given the address of the IRS office in my area to take the payment to and receive documents pertaining to the lawsuit that they stated they were unable to deliver as no one was home since we work during the day. As long as I followed the instructions they provided me with, I would not be arrested and there would not be a lean against all my properties and bank funds.  The person I spoke with and his supervisor were foreign. The person is claiming to be from the IRS Claims and Investigation office and is stating he is an officer.

My elderly parents received a threatening phone call from this number today informing them that a lawsuit had been filed against my mother and that she must call them right away.  I told her under no circumstances was she to return the call or take any new call from anyone at that number.  It sounded like a scam to me.  And it apparently is!

This really is a scam. I called THREE times. 1) I asked if it was a scam, (American accent) they hung up. If it really was the IRS, they wouldn't hang up. (2) (Indian accent called himself Officer Jack) I asked them to stop calling, they hung up. (3) (different Indian accent again, and also called Officer Jack) I asked to speak with a supervisor, he said yes how can I help you. I said "you're a supervisor?" He said yes. I asked why they were calling. He said it's the IRS. I said BS, you aren't officers, and if it was the IRS no one would hang up on me, our taxes are fine, I'm on the Do Not Call Registry, so stop calling. He said it would cost $200 to be put on the do not call list. I called BS again, said this is AMERICA, the Do Not Call reigstry is FREE and we're already on it. So I'm going to report them to the FCC, and keep bugging them like they keep bugging everyone else.

I think they had enough of my sh*t because now I can't get through! LOL!!! I got voice mail (British accent) unavailable, just leave number. Called again, and it turned from a ring to a busy signal. They probably blocked me. Well hell I guess they don't want to audit me anymore.

I received a call from this number and when I called it back I was told similar story regarding Jack Cooper and a case filed against me.  The gentleman had a foreign accent and was we spoke I found this information and hung up.  While I was on hold with the IRS they called and left another voice message.  I will not speak to them until I hear it from the IRS that I should.  Not falling for this one.
