I to had an employee "verify" info and was played a recording of her. It sounded doctored to me as her response of "yes" was very digitized compared to the rest of her voice. I called to cancel as soon as the bill arrived and was rudely told it was not cancelable. After asking many times for a supervisor and getting no where I told them I was not paying and they should remove the listing and they said they were not going to do that. I'll pay an attorney twice this bill if I have to before they get a dime out of my company! My credit stands on its own and I'll just dispute this if it really does show up. I'll bet it doesn't as their collections department probably is just a scare tactic. ( I have no proof of that obviously ).

Same thing happened today to my company.  An emoloyee verified our address and number with them and we just received a bill.  When I called and talked to them they said they wouldn't cancel it.  The only they said they would do for me is if I pay them, they will take me off of their website and never call me again.  I talked with a lady named Lina Clark, she was extremely rude and was basically taunting me, saying she guarantees my company pays.  I listened to a recording that sounded doctored.  Al lmy employee did was verify address and number.  The very last thing the guy said before hanging up was that we would be billed 459.99, have a good day.  The employee never agreed to that amount.  The company phone number is 866-697-0539.  Lina Clarks direct number is 888-401-3843.  Company is a big fraud.  We are not paying, even if they put it up for collection, we are not paying.

Liar.  You do not have to pay for it.  You work for American Yellow Pages, too?  Scammer.

We're dealing with these fools, too. Same story with the verifying address and then getting the bill. First, "Robert" from American Yellow Pages calls to harass us about the bill.  Then he called back as a collector and I told him he's using the same voice and he totally admitted it.  When we told "Robert" we were recording the call, he would not repeat his name or give us a return phone number.  They are so lame.  They push our buttons to make us angry so we tell them to F off and hang up on them, then they call back trying to give us the guilt trip for using vulgar language and being rude.  I also told him to mail another bill and gave him the Better Business Bureau address.  I doubt they'll ever mail anything.  It is starting to become entertaining to see what will happen each day. Total Scam.  I would've never fallen for this, but we had a temp receptionist that fell for it.  LAME.

I keep getting calls from a inda speaking man, He says that he is calling to renew our add,he calls about 3 times a day and i repeatly told him we dont have an account with them. The only number that comes up on our caller id is either 2105,or 1123, thats it, no areacode. Please if anyone has any info on this company please respond back..Also says that we will get billed for 400.00$, All he asked the first time was to verify our address and #.

called my work, told my supervisor that he was my brother, When I answered the phone , this Indian or hindu accent person claimed they lost my S.S.# and needed it again,saying he worked for the federal something or another as I couldnt understand what he was saying, also telling me I need to be in court. I told this person where to go & hung up. He called back & gave my supervisor his number still claming to be my so called "Brother"again, claming it was an emergency. He wrote down the number 202-715-0902 and told him that his employees cannot be bothered & hung up

I have dealt with just recently,they call a number of times everyday,I've reported them to the Attourney General of Tennessee,they've told me to document everything and send to them....They do doctor the recordings, so just hang up on them, awful people.

Nigerian or Indian accent,  request you to pay 1200.00 within 1 hour or you will be arrest,  request your debit or credit card.  Goes by the name as Joel or Joe Anderson from the United Legal Investigation Bureau.  Reported to the local law enforcement agency in my area and states this is a serious SCAM   calls everyday and is very irrogant.  Name calls,  states he will pull your driver's license,  arrest you at your employment etc.  Also another number is 607-330-1058

I've fallen victim to the same stories with GOAM Media (American yellow pages) We just the first call from THEIR collections dept. It's been a few months since we heard from them.
I did a ck on the BBB's website. The state of Nebraska has banned them from doing business in that state.

We also were victim to GOAM Media.  I just fought the bill through the Better Business Bureau located in Florida.  The company has said they will disregard our bill.  We'll see if they leave us alone now.

I just had the same type of call come to my office.  If I had not pulled up this website while I was still on the phone with them, they might have succeeded in their little scheme.  I am curious to know, where is everyone from?  I got this call in Marietta, GA.

Please don't pay. They will harass you for a while but they have no intention or legal right to take you to court. Look further you will find many stories similar to yours. They will try to trick you and scare you into paying. Just keep hanging up. They will call 3 times most days. Don't keep funding this fraudulent company. It's all crap.

I've had numerous calls from them trying to collect on a non existent publication I didn't authorize. I'm in California. I've seen complaints from 5 or 6 different states. My advice to everyone is DO NOT PAY. They will try to scare you and tell you things about court and your credit. If they had anything to go on somebody would have been brought to court by now. I've been fighting them since April, and have yet to receive any legal papers. Good Luck

We just got scammed by these guys.  After going around in circles with "Nash" and him not understanding the word NO - "Steve" the general manager from Go American Yellow pages called.  They said 'you do not have to buy anything now, we are just confirming your information you have with us from last year.  That we will get a 2 year listing with them instead of the 1 year we had last year.  We will send you a invoice in 10 days, you can change your information or cancel at that time"
We tried to call and cancel and a very rude man said we could not. They offered to lessen the amount of the bill to $411.00 instead of the $459.95 but we have to pay it.  We are a non-profit organization and cannot afford to pay this.  We pressured into ok'ing it with the understanding we could cancel - Now what do we do? Any suggestions.

These guys call us two or three times a day.  I have now started to hang up, which I know is rude, or just say that I have taken care of this already and not to call again.
