They call and they hang up.  Then they call and they hang up.  And AGAIN they call and they hang up.  I hope it's not some sales organization, because if it is, they haven't figured out that in order to make a sale, you actually have to talk to someone.  Chances are it's just stupid people who work for a stupid company.  The good news is that I don't do that sort of thing.  Ergo -- not stupid!!

Called repeatedly without leaving a message. As there are so many spoofs as to area codes and names, I always look now online when receiving an unsolicited call to my cell on the No Call List. Will add them to my Spammer Fraud list

Soliciting donations for Oklahoma tornado victims - "Press 1 to donate now" - The recording references reputable aid organizations such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army, but do not identify what organization is actually calling. Seems fishy.

-  new  twist  is  they  are   also  impersonating  DEA  officials  /  IRS   etc....  with  threats  to  arrest you  unless  you  immediately  send money  via  wire   transfer /  western  union   to some   offshore  country  !!!!!   obvious  scam  !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

The presumed scam artists who call themselves "Justice for All" called this evening at 2025 hours on my DNC listed phone with an urgent message regarding the recent emergency in OK, naturally looking for money for the victims of the tornadoes.  Press 1 to donate, press 1 now.  I'd like to press a knife blade to the jugulars of scam artists who prey on victims.  Same idiots called a few months ago looking for a donation for gun control for the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre.  I blocked my number and called the phone number back but, of course, got a message saying the phone number is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.  Thing is, it didn't sound like a telephone company message.  All the earmarks of a scam artist at work.

Recording says they are "Justice for all," stating the fact that Red Cross & Salvation Army are working to help the OK tornado disaster victims & wanted me to press 1 to give money...except they don't say where any donations will go. Typical scam ploy to take advantage of a tragedy. "Justice for all" sounds like a group playing a political game, not a relief organization. Not all of us are suckers.

Got the same message, press 1 to add your name to a list, press 8 to take your name off, but of course you are disconnected if you hit 8.

The caller was a Democratic political group who left a message on my machine.    This group is trying to get support for saving the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), which takes full effect Jan. 1, 2014.  They will tell you the Republicans already have 5 Million signatures opposing it.

Just got a call from this number where "press 1" is to sign a petition for justice for Trayvon Martin and new gun law legislation. It was presented as a paid political message -- but at the end when they said "paid for by..." they garbled the name enough to make it unintelligible. I assume if I had pressed 1, I would have been asked for a donation to support the cause. The phone number they included (888-981-6499) is identified on other sites as a scam donation number.

Calling about gun control and donations for gun control. I told them we need more guns in the hands of responsible citizens to protect our families and friends from people like you and they asked me why I called them.

Silly me, my phone rang with this number (202-719-2244) and I called them. I must have made a mistake I guess, I guess I thought I was calling the NRA :o)
