Looks like they took a couple of months off...  Just got a call.  Blocked it, then came here to check.  I've never had a legitimate cold call since the Do Not Call list was started.  ALL cold calls seem to be scamsters.  On the off chance that it IS a legitimate call from a legitimate number, I can always unblock it and call them back, or let them call again if it's such a big deal.

Message ID does not show the area code.  Phone announcing system used it.  Just a scammer.  Could not understand what it said.

Right on Frus!!  My wife raises hell with me for not answering these calls.  Then she wants to raise hell when I show her all you folks responses.  Thank each and every one of you for taking the time to do the "look-ups", then taking the time to make your posts.  If you are from the Northeast, Yens have a great New Year.  If Y'all are from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas or Louisiana, Y'all have a good 'un.

Don't forget the fact that they also might be using telephone scam software designed by their own programmers to obtain information that is pertinent to your personal information.

Maybe (call forwarding) and (relay services) need to be looked into also.

HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THE CALLERS THAT ASK YOU CALL BACK FROM A DIFFERENT NUMBER THEY ARE CALLING YOU FROM. YOU TRY AND CALL THEM BACK AND THEIR NUMBER ISN'T EVEN CONNECTED AT THAT NUMBER.

SOME TIMES THEY ARE OVERSEAS NUMBERS LIKE YOU SAID. OTHER TIMES IT COULD BE THE SOFTWARE THEY ARE HOOKED UP TO... TO MAKE YOU THING THEY ARE OVER SEAS.   IN THE MEAN TIME, YOU HAVE TOLD THEM INFORMATION ABOUT YOU, YOUR COMPANY, YOUR IMPORTANT PHONE CONTACTS AND EVERYTHING ELSE. NEVER HEARING FROM THEM AGAIN.

REMEMBER THIS ABOUT POLITICAL CALLS.  THE CANDIDATE FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS MIGHT BE HIRING A BUNCH OF KIDS TO GET THEM TO COLLECT MONEY SO HE/OR SHE CAN RUN FOR A POLITICAL OFFICE. THE KIDS ARE ACTUALLY HIS GRASS ROOTS ORGANIZATION.

NOW WHEN ELECTION TIME COMES FOR LOCAL ELECTION THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 1/3 OF THE GENERAL POPULATION THAT ARE GOING TO CARE ENOUGH TO GO OUT AND VOTE FOR THAT CANDIDATE. THE REST WILL SAY, I'M NOT INTERESTED IN VOTING FOR YOU OR THEM. SO THE CONTRIBUTE $1.00 HERE OR $2.00 THERE IS ANOTHER SCAM.

NATIONAL ELECTIONS ALSO. THE TALK SOUNDS GOOD, BUT THERE IS MORE THAN TALK TO TO RUN FOR A PUBLIC SPOT, AND THE COMPETITION IS USUALLY STOMACH TURNING PROMISES. LET THEM GO TAKE OUT A LOAN FOR THEIR OWN POLITICAL SPOT AND SEND OUT PAPERWORK TO THEIR SUPPORTERS. IF YOU DECIDE TO RUN FOR A POLITICAL SPOT YOURSELF.....DEPENDING ON THE LOCATION AND AGE, THEY'D PROBABLY ONLY PAY YOU $15K-20K TO MAKE DECISIONS UNTIL YOU STARTED MAKING THOSE DECISIONS, AND THEN THEY'D START HOLLERING AT THEMSELVES......'NOW LOOK WHAT WE DID....WHAT JERKS WE ARE!"

After hanging up several times, the finally spoke.  Asking for donations to the Republican Party.

Got the call, from this number, today, at 9:18AM, EDT.  Joke's on them, I don't answer anything that I don't recognize and especially not 202 area codes.  Even if they are a political party, which I sincerely doubt reading these blogs, they're still thieves.
