They called saying that they were IRS and I owe money and will be arrested in an hour

IRS fakes. Too many of the predatory/spam phone calls reported here are targeted at senior citizens. Seniors may not be as savvy about these kinds of calls. I volunteer at a senior center, and I hear stories too often of seniors who go into a panic when threatened by the "monsters". Educate seniors of your acquaintance about how to use Caller ID to screen calls; they must stop before picking up the call to check if the name and number are ones they recognize. If the caller is a mystery, they should not pick up the call!

received a call on my deceased mothers cell phone.  Telling her to call Mark Woods at the IRS immediately.

received a call today from officer mark woods from irs to call back before we get arrested.

Claimed to be calling from the "IRS." When I asked him his name, he said "F*ck You, s**hole! Don't waste my time!" and hung up. Tried to call back, and he didn't pick up.

Revived calls from this woods guy, saying he is from the IRS. He always says God bless you after telling me I will be arrested if I don't call him. How can I stop this guy?

I had a pre recorded message from Officer Mark Woods that they had received a complaint against me and that I would be charged and go to jail.  I was to call him back immediately.  More out of curiosity I did, he didn't pick on my first try but did on the second try. When I started to question him as to his authority he asked me if I was a Patrick Flattery and I said "no" he hung up.
Trying to report this scam to the IRS was particularly frustrating ....I gave up.

Nice of the "IRS" to give us enough notice so we can skip town !!!!

I got a call for the second time from this low life...I knew right away he was a fake.the connection is horrible and his acent is so strong you can't understand him very well..I bet when he walks outside he usally steps in dog [***]!!

Just got a call today from this number. Same thing, claiming he was the IRS, real bad accent.

Called as a Shawn Marshall ID#645189 IRS Criminal Agent. If I did not provide information to pay $3,000+ in 90 minutes a Sherriff would be dispersed to my job to arrest me and will have to serve 3 years in prison for de-frauding the IRS. Heavy accent, hard to understand.

Hard to understand because it is a LIAR and THIEF calling from India or Pakistan.

Hang up.  It is a scam - and definitely NOT the IRS or CRA!!

I got a call from 202-738-4070, the caller said he was OFFICER MARK WOODS (INDIAN ACCENT), I couldn't understand what he said basically.

There was a message on my elderly parent's voicemail.  Thankfully they are aware of the scams.

The person never stated whom they were calling for, only that they were from the IRS and the message that was left was alarming in that they were pretty much threatening that something bad was going to happen if they were not called back.

My Father was only just released from the hospital a day ago and thankfully my Mother figured it was a scam.  However, some other person might not and it is pretty disgusting how they seem to go after people.

They'll get their due.  It is a scam and I sure hope they get their due sooner than later.

Just received a message from Mark Woods. I called from a cell phone and he hung up one me when I refused to give my home number.  Just to be a b-, I called him back again and told him I was going to report him and have him arrested.  He hung up again....loser.

They called, saying I would be arrested for tax invasion, and to contact them at this number.  They guy said he was an officer.  My health is not good, I don't need any scare tatics.

I was just brutally brutally threatened by this guy.. after literally being terrified for 5 mins of the call something made me think to google in... saw multiple reviews of this number and very simply asked for more verification.. he lost it on me. i asked to speak to a colleague to perhaps confirm his identity...he became abusive then asked it i had my car keys. puzzled i said yes... he said to get in my car and turn myself into the nearest county jail and then hung up...
  so i called back...he told me he had my bank info, my ss#, my credit card numbers...and he'd take all my money..hed take out a card in my name and get all the money to pay off the debit... he'd make checks out to him to make sure the debit was paid... I then asked but shouldn't they be made out to the us bank? he hung up

It was great that you checked up on the number and knew what to say!   If that number or any other number you don't recognize shows on your caller ID, don't answer, it is likely to be "Mark Wood" or one of his friends, looking to scare you.  The IRS does not notify by phone.  You did a good thing here!

Um, yeah...got a call today from this scammer "Mark Wood". First of all, I have never evaded paying my taxes, so you can kiss my butt Mark Wood or whomever the heck you are!
