I just got a call on Jan 24, 2014 from a guy with a heavy Eastern European accent.  Same routine.  

Here is the script left on my voice-mail.  I've transcribed it word for word as best as I could understand the accent with grammatical errors and all:   "Hi Mr. <my name> This is an officer, Andrew Jackson, from the crime investigation department.  Now, the reason to give you a call is in regards to a legal case and federal complaint that our department have received against onto your name and onto your identity.  And now with this captain of the investigation, and there are some three federal allegation charges or claim against you. So now the matter is very sensitive and the time is very short for you, sir.  As soon as you receive my message, I want you to give me urgent call back on my number which is 202-754-8075. I repeat the number once again. Make sure the number is 202-754-8075. Thank you. You have a great and wonderful day. Buh bye."

How do these scammers get your name and phone number?

Received a call today from someone claiming to be officer Brian Anderson saying he is from federal department and that my husband's name and identity is under investigation and then in a threatening voice commanded he call him back otherwise govt. will take action against him.

This person called n pretended he was from cop n called regarding some criminal charges against me n wanted to verify my personal info via phone!

He was gonna send cops at our door! LOL

Getting calls form this number 202-754-8075

Same people called me as well. This man claims to be officer Steve Watson of the Crime Investigation Branch of the Federal Government.  He mentioned that there are legal issues related to our financial claims with IRS. Suspecting that this was a fraud call,  another person with heavy accent claiming to be Officer.... elaborates on the legal issues and we have an opportunity to settle out of the court or go to jail. When I said that we have not received any communication from IRS, he asked if we are ready to go the jail and stated that he has the capacity to put in the jail.

received a call .wanted me to call back regarding serious issues with FBI. When i called back  a person named scott answered and said forget.when i called back no one answer. i will cal phone comp.and find out the physical location generating this call. and person should be handed over tp Govt. agency.

Called that he was from IRS and have injunctions... I cut the call... end of discussion.. scam..

has any received threatening telephone calls from this number?  the guy has a heavy accent, difficult to understand, claims he is a police officer and that he is ready to sue.

I had the message that Federal bureau of investigation  had  3 complaints against you and when i called back the number that appeared was 800-829-1040. and it was IRS number. I did not call the number and I instead called the police. Don't give any personal information. it also said it was regarding your id. Inform the police.

It is a scam run by Indians, you can tell the fake accents. The use names like Kevin Wilson, Ray Jackson or Officer Henderson.

When they call just put them on hold, saying "Can you please hold for a second", and waste their time.
