Left message as Director of William Ford Student Loan Forgiveness Program with other details. - Thomas Borg| 1 replyRecording of someone posing as a helpful agent interested in helping me to get my student loans forgiven. Claims to be Joe Campbell, Director of Federal Student Loan Forgiveness program and he's following up on a form that I supposedly partially filled out. Makes it sound like he's responding to me personally, but I haven't had student debt since 1997. It's a scam. They want me to give them my SSN so that they can look up my info and help me. Right, I'm so sure. I recorded the call.

- Mary Lane| 1 replySame caller making same claim. Urgency to voice and claim. That if I don't do this then Trump and Besty Devos (Head of Fed. Ed. Depart) will.... not clear what he said about this. The claims seemed like pressure sales, and yet also vaguely believable. Glad I didn't call back and or engage with this guy.

- Antonia| 1 reply"Yeah it's umm Joe Campbell here...I'm the director of the federal student loan forgiveness program. It looks like you tried reaching out for help. I don't know what's going on with your servicers, but you know, all of them, Naviant, Great Lakes, Nelnet, ACS, they all are being sued right now...I think you know that. So I'm in the Washington headquarters. My number is 202-810-4238, 202-810-4238 and we run an advocacy group here, to basically to get you enrolled, grandfathered into the program before Donald Trump and Betsy Devos, who is the Secretary of Education changes it and removes all loan forgiveness which also includes public student loan forgiveness. This is a big deal. So call me back and let's get you enrolled so you avoid paying back your interest as well as your principal. That's why it's called loan forgiveness. It's (a) title under the William B. Ford Act. All you have to do is Google it and see that this is real. The servicers are dropping millions and millions of dollars to prevent you from seeing the real truth. So call us back. Final. Joe Campbell 202-810-4238 This is serious. Let's get your loans forgiven before your application expires. Bye bye."

- Barbara replies to AntoniaI've been getting this call from Joe Campbell for months. Isn't there a way to investigate this fraudulent act and put a stop to it?
- AlexanderSame as others. Joe Campbell, blah blah. Thing is, I'm in my 60s, and never had student loans. I think they are after my son, who does have student loans. He's been out of school for probably 10 years. Somehow, though, they got MY cell phone number, and, of course, I would never give them my son's. This is about the 10th call I've had from them. Once I called back to tell them they had the wrong number and to stop calling and before I got past "you have the wrong person" they hung up. I haven't tried back. I just keep blocking their number each time they call, and then the next call is from a new number. Sigh.
