- JamieI also got a call from "Eric Foster" with a thick accent just a few minutes ago. Definitely sounded like a scam.
- Val BeersI have gotten at least 3 calls from this phone number saying they will arrest me and they work for the IRS. The mans name is R. Patrick.
- Amanda| 1 replyI got a call from "Eric Foster" today. He decided to lead with a number sequence and instructed me "not to disregard this message". If I do, the only thing he can do is "wish me luck for the harm that it will bring to me". I guess "professionals" make threats now.
- Call type: Debt collector
- suspiciousgot the same call today, Eric Foster and Shawn White, telling me they need my lawyer's information. I told them to go F themselves.
- DCali replies to Geo| 1 replyI got a call stating the same of which most posts said. I asked if I could talk to someone that I could understand, because I was having a hard time understanding Officer Eric Forster, and guess what he hung up on me. When I tried to call back, they continually hung up. He claimed I tried to fraud the IRS, and that I needed to pay them 4000.00 or I would be picked up by the police in just a few hours.
- lizaI keep getting calls from this number and figured it was a scammer. They finally left a message with no explanation that I should get an attorney or I will be in trouble. I am just hoping that nobody falls for these scaming idiots!
- TessaI'm having the same issue, they will call my phone early morning and through out the day with diiferent numbers but with the same accent. Watch out for these numbers (734) 925-3916, (202) 864-1131, (734)486-2834, (571) 267-2207.
- Caller: IRS, Officer Gary Foster
- FedUpSaid from IRS, had warrant for arrest, needed to have lawyer or myself call back. Had accent and used phrasing that a professional company would never use.Immediately knew it was a scam. As all of these unknown callers are. Don't understand how these people can sleep at night. Oh, right...they have no conscience nor shame!
- Caller: IRS
- Mitt| 3 repliesReceived a voice mail from "Officer Eric Foster". Those were the only three words of the 40 second message that I could understand. Could not pronounce simple words correctly and was running several words together in his pronunciation. So infuriating! I don't have time for this crap!

- Nymphadora replies to Mitt| 2 repliesI have a recorded message from this [***]. How do we track his [***] down and prosecute him for FRAUD?!
- Rex replies to NymphadoraCall or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction (and the NSA can finally be a force for good).

Dear Senator/Representative XXX
As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to demand decisive action from the FBI, the IRS and other federal agencies against organized crime directed against American citizens from abroad.
As widely reported by local and national media all across the United States and warned about by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (see http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/press/press_tigta-2014-03.htm) a tidal wave of fraud using internet phones has hit the United States. Millions of dollars already have been stolen by criminals impersonating federal officers from the IRS while hiding in countries like India and Pakistan, where most of the calls originate. There seems to be no end of it in sight.
I have personally been targetted by these scammers but it is the most vulnerable among us that I am concerned about primarily. The scheme is specifically singling out those that can least defend themselves against these crimes, in particular the elderly. I am also worried that given the origin of these gangsters, the money stolen from US citizens may be used for financing of terrorism or other activities directed against the national interests of the United States. But in spite of this clear and present danger to our country and its citizens I have seen no action worth mentioning by the FBI, the IRS or other federal agencies so far.
As a member of Congress overseeing the law enforcement agencies tasked with fighting fraud and ensuring national security, I implore you to make sure that they act on these threats and are given all the necessary resources to target these criminals in cooperation with foreign law enforcement.
Yours sincerely - Randy replies to kelly silvaYou are a DORK
- RandyI like to mess with these guys, I usually pretend to be very glad that they have called and plead with th
em not to arrest me, and then give them a bogus credit card number and expiration date. I hope it at least keeps the rat [***] busy for a little while.- Caller: IRS

- LWF| 1 replyI received 2 calls; one proporting to be from the IRS saying that my wife was being investigated of income tax evasion.
She gave me a file number, The second using that number was someone who said they were an officer and
wanted me to call that number. The second call was a male; both sounded like Arabs or Indians; poor accented English. - Tamianth replies to LWFReport the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so. - FTC AttnyThis scam started back in 2006 and mostly targeted those who held payday loans. Do not give them any information or money as they are the worst of fiendish crooks.
Call your local law enforcement and ask how to place a complaint with your local District Attorney's office. Call your local FTC and follow up with local news consumer advocates.- Caller: Mr Foster
