"Michael" from Windows called to let me know that my computer was having a networking issue and to go to it so he could fix it. I informed him I went to school for Computer Network and Administration and that I more than likely knew more about networking than him. He informed me it was something that I couldn't fix because it was through the Internet. I let him know that there was nothing wrong with my computer then hung up on him. He was still trying to explain why I was wrong.

My guy was named Michael, too.

I had fun with Michael.  Told him I didn't own a computer but that I *did* own a toaster.  He seemed uninterested.  The dog was barking at my wife for some reason ('wanna play!' in dog language, I think) so I told Michael, "Hang on and I'll turn on my computer.  Talk to my dog," and I put the phone on the floor in front of Zeus.  My wife is laughing so hard she can't talk.  The guy hangs up--then calls back and asks if *I* hung up.  I said no, that I asked him to talk to my dog.  He asks me to go to my computer again, and...I forget now...I guess I said something totally snarky and he asked "Are you making fun of me?" and I said something like "yup" and he said "Would you like me to cut off your service, sir?  Would you like me to CUT off your SERVICE?" and I said "Yes, could you?  I really don't use the internet much and Netflix has nothing good on, and oh!, I was just watching some porn so could you delete that, plus all my family photos and you know what...my dog poops indoors a lot and it's annoying, is there anything you could do about that?"

    Michael became discouraged and left.

    My wife enjoyed the show.

Michael from Microsoft said that my networking line was being compromised and that he could take care if it for 59.99.  Or he was shutting down my networking line and all stuff associated with it.  I said I didn't have a computer and hung up.  He called back and said I could pay him or he would come cut off my network.  I hung up and blocked the number.

The guy on the other end who was very hard to understand through his accent insisted that my laptop had some sort of internet problem. When I told him I did not own a laptop he was in disbelief. He asked me three more times about my computer to which I kept telling him I do not own one and he kept questioning me. He finally said I will call you back.

Received three calls - first one from Mary, next two from a gentleman (maybe Michael). Referenced hackers compromising my IP address, and that they were contractors from Microsoft and Windows. Told them that a) I was using a secure network from a large employer, as I was at work and b) I haven't owned a PC since 2008. I genuinely gave them an opportunity to explain themselves, but caller kept going back to how serious my predicament was, without a clear explanation. Call didn't last much longer.

Caller claimed to be from Global Tax Solutions_BBB and said that my computer was being hacked.  I told him I would research this supposed company and if appropriate, call them back.  He then told me that it was impossible to call them back.  Red flags went up and I ended the call.
