Calling threatening to sue me wishing me good luck!!! Also contacting my employer!!! This is BS!! How do we stop this???

Did you do a payday loan online? That's how they are getting our information. Ignore them, it's a scam.

I have been getting calls from different scam likely numbers all day. But when I checked my voicemail the message seemed real. So I called to check it out. The young lady tells me I have a case with them that needs to be paid. That I borrowed $550 from a company and gave my back info, but when it was time to pay it back my bank was closed. They had a lot of my very old information. I cursed them out and looked up their info. Now they are sending text messages now. Plus the company they said I owed didn’t seem real either. It was called EZmoney or Easy Corp. They were unprofessional and tried to over talking me, don’t trust.

They sent me a text saying: “ANASTASIA, We have an urgent matter in our office that directly concerns you. In order to help we must speak with you today at 833-514-0474. DNR” First if all I know I don’t owe no one. That’s why I keep an eye on all 3 credit Bureaus and now what accounts I have open and what accounts are close. My SSN number is locked and frozen so no way they could even look me up hahaha people will do anything to get a dime.   How you going to have the same text number but have different call back numbers shaking my head.

This company has sent multiple text messages stating there is an urgent matter that directly concerns me, it says I need to call them. I have no idea who these people are so I have no intention of returning their calls.

I hear other comments. Received a threating text today that it is the final attempt on money owed and I will be referred for legal action. No company name, wasn't even addressed to my name. FRAUD. I am freak out now.

Just got a text from this number for the first time. They had my name but my maiden name. It said, "We've made several attempts to get in contact with you in regard to your outstanding balance. We need to speak with you today or your acco". The message wasn't complete and I know it's a scam. I just don't get how they got my maiden name and mixed with my current phone number. These people are going through hoops to scam people.

SCAM TEXT!  They don't identify themself and is making a threat.

Just received the same text message. Called the number back and no answer. Scammer for real!

They called and said I had got a payday loan and that’s a lie! They had my last 4 digits social and bank account I almost feel for it when they said I was at a address that I haven’t been in a long time.

"Overdue balance", "account at risk" are the obvious tells that this text is a fishing scam. First, the text should come from my bank, not an unknown number. Second, it should be "overdrawn" not "overdue".

They both call and text about a 2015 payday loan from easy money. I've never received a payday loan. They've contacted my family and called me evasive. Same story saying my account will be frozen, and accusing me of fraud. One of the callers sounded both angry and unprofessional. I also get texts from them late in the evening after 10 pm. I asked them to send me documents proving my debt, and they responded its too late for that. If it's not a scam they'd be sued out of existence.

Tldr, it's a scam.

They are contacting my parents as well, looking for me by the wrong name.

Thank you BigA for the links and info. I will be reporting them. Not for me, but in hopes they are shut down because of the damage they do to people that fall for this.  A few years ago an elderly man in my community took his own life after receiving a threatening call like this saying he would go to jail if he didn’t pay and his children would then be responsible for his debts. Tragic and shameful!!
