same thing here in Pittsburgh.

I think that I am going to send the information for the local police department for them to send the check.

I had this happen in the past with a set of 33" wheels that they wanted shipped to seattle from Pittsburgh. The wheel were $200 and shipping was 300-400. I stated in the ad "NO shipping". I had them overnight me a check to my neighbors house. I figured that I may as well cost them some money for being a JO. I never did see the check, since the house was abandoned. Oh well, looks like I'm going to cost them some more money for overnight shipping.

I am selling an item on craigslist in Kansas and got an email from this person that seemed fishy and googled the number.  This page with numerous other reports on the number is what I found and want to further add that i too feel this is a scam trying to get personal information.  Below is a copy of the email.

I got the same message for my ad on Craigslist for a TV and stand...SOOO glad I googled the number, something told me it was a little funny. This is my e-mail, and I'm in South Carolina:

Hi All...  I've received the same emails from my craigslist ad.  THANK YOU ALL for also posting after looking up this guys phone number.  It creeped me out that he said his "mover" would come pick up the item....  what!?!?!?!

I got the EXACT same message from this person in response to MY CL ad.  I wonder if there is any way to have CL stop him from posting?  I doubt it though.  I hope no one actually believes this guy.  He would probably send you a check for TOO MUCH money and ask you to send back the rest.  that's my guess.

Yep, posted ad on CL to sell some KISS dolls and the same person sent email saying their name is Monica Wilson and works at haborview medical center in Seatle, WA.  The email says the exact same as what you guys are saying. Well I called that hospital they said they couldn't tell me if she works there. I called information and got a number for a Monica Wilson and called it and the person said they didn't work there. wrong Monica or/and the person is just using her info. I live in Tennessee so if everyone else on here lives somewhere else you know

I got the same thing here, I'm trying to sell my gas powered RC trucks and this guy sends me an email. And I'm in Virginia.

ya its way phony, i emailed back letting them know that this was a phony email and a scam and i told them if this was legit they can call or txt me if the "item" (never once mentioned what the item was or condition or anything a real buyer would ask) is really wanted and if they didnt respond within 2days i would report them to the proper authorities, its not like i really can report them because they dont exist but i figured i would delay their scam for a bit hopefully,

Yep I rec'd an email to a listing on Craigslist as well ..right away stating the same thing about paying for the truck with Cashier/certified Bank check from Bank of America and would arrange for local pick up as they were so busy working to be able to get here themselves to get it..more like to busy scamming...glad I checked into the # left on the email.

I got a response to a craigslist sale that I posted recently. Exact same  emails. You'd think you would have someone correct the english. I played around, gave him a drop box as the address. He sent a fake check via priority overnight. Definite fake.  What a dork. At least he paid for a pricey overnight. Have some fun with them, give them your police departments address to send the check.

This appears to be some sort of a huge group. Overnight came from Ohio, the fedex is originated in San Antonio and the request to send the western unions to california, fake checks are from sources in Florida. Think of how many people are not checking this number and directed here!
