It is a number used for service verification for many newspapers.  L.A., Seattle, Minneapolis, etc.  I get calls when I renew my Star Trib subscription or when I file a complaint for a missed paper, etc.  They are calling to verify the complaint or sale was handled in a satisfactory manner.

Same type of message here in Minnesota.  Very strange because I have not given my number to anyone, as it is a new cell number.  I am in the process of contacting my cell provider to see if they can help.  Another strange item is that on my web call list provided by my cell company, it shows that I have called myself at those times.  *sigh* :)

1/26/11 - 11:42a VERAFAST calling - left the same robo message that this is a service verification and they will call again later.  I contacted the Star Tribune after the call today  to discuss my delivery and asked if they use a company to verify service ~ I was told yes they do.  I then unloaded on this poor customer service employee stating that I do not want my phone number released to anyone and to remove my number from their records and if I receive another call I will be filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office here in Minnesota.  I was told that my file will be flagged "NO solicitation"....I went online to my Star Trib account and deleted my phone number.  In the future I will never give out my phone number and if necessary I will make up a number.  VERAFAST has called for the past 21 days....seriously this is outrageous and why would Star Trib allow this kind of harassment? .  I am happy that someone found my posting helpful.  Have a good day.

This number began calling me on Sunday, January 30 2011.  I received another call today.  From the chronology appearing on this site, I should expect to get a call from this outfit every day.

PLEASE STOP THIS PROCESS!!!

I am sick of the onus always being placed on me to "opt out" or "report abuses" and so on.  Why is there no burden of responsiblity on the part of the communciations company(ies) taking my money in payment for telephone service?????

I've had other varification calls like this before before. Don't answer a single call from the start and they'll stop calling after maybe four to six calls. If you don't know the number, don't answer and look it up later. Always remeber, if it's someone you know or something important, they'll leave a message. If you keep answering to see if you've won any sweepstakes, well then, you're screwed. There is no free lunch; you and 500,000 others are paying for the 1/1,000,000 chance of a prize through these spam calls.

Also, this newspaper thing is fishy... I've never been signed up for a newspaper. I have no clue why some company would have my number. It's probably some sort of scam or something.

Got the call at 6:27 tonight. Caller ID idenified it as a company called "Verafast, " a telemarketing firm out of Ohio. We're on the "do not call" list too. Go figure.

This number keeps calling my phone..man..

VERAFAST robocall for "service verification". I do not pick up unwanted calls, and they leave a message on machine about calling back later. And they do... again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. Obnoxious harassment.

Got a call on my cell from this #. NO message left.

Get calls from this number non stop for 2 months, have asked many times to stop calling me.

Someone posted online that this number belongs to Teltrust Corp. This number DOES NOT belong to Teltrust. We provide services to payphones, we do not make telemarketing calls or spam calls. If you have any complaints about the calls, call 360 Networks, they are the real owners of the phone number.

Some tax solution telemarketer: "You may not have a problem with the IRS now, but..." or some message like that, (I can't remember exactly - I was too angry that they woke me up: I work 3rd shift).

I pressed "1", waited a few seconds, and got some guy who introduced himself as "Nick", and asked me how I was doing today...  "Well Nick, how would you like being called in the middle of the night?  I work nights, and sleep during the day.  So how do you think I'm doing today?"  And he hung up.

This number calls often, no one answers when phone is picked up. Am on National Do Not Call list, but that don't seem to work.
I report abusive calls like this to FCC.

We also get this call numerous times on our phones. We are on the do not call list too! This call is always dead air and is getting very annoying. Everyone needs to go to the FCC web site and file an online complaint so maybe they can put a stop to it.

I live in Michigan why the heck would I want a paper if this is who it really is and what it is about??

Called the 360 Network....explained it to them and they said to call 877-638-6621 to report abuse and get removed.

Scam call about tax debt relief.

Same baboons in cubicles that have been calling around the country trying to rip off people with their UPFRONT FEE tax debt relief SCAM.   The UPFRONT part is now illegal, but then these guys violate so many laws - what's one more??

They also have resorted to trolling sites like these and putting in FAKE messages like "...I just got approved for a 2% mortgage from XYZ company!  This isn't a scam it really works!!.."

Yeah right....and I have a 36" [***].

Last I looked there weren't any stud horses in my family tree.....


These guys are just calling all over - they are dialing off of any "list" they're just dialing numbers.  When they hit a live body they pitch it, and hopefully they'll get some poor sucker who's hit on hard times and falls for their pitch out of desperation.  That's when they rip you off.   They are getting about $4,000 bucks for each of these scams - UPFRONT.
They don't DO anything that you couldn't do for FREE yourself.
There is NO magic negotiation, secret formula, secret sauce or anything - just their promise of pie in the sky savings that, according to their disclaimers (that niggling little fine print that most people don't EVER read) they are not obligated to provide, be responsible for, etc.

In fact, if you get right down to it, the only thing that they DO guarantee - is the fact that YOU WILL BE PAYING THEM - UPFRONT - IN CASH - with access to your checking, debit, savings etc....forever and ever amen.

Don't make me say it....IF it sounds too good to be true..........ya know?
