I received the same call I contacted Amazon and reported them

Same scenario for us today - they used $77.99 as amount of purchase as well.

i received 2 messages from this number asking me if I had made a purchase from Amazon (which I hadn't) and for me to call them regarding this matter. I didn't call!

Answered call, auto voice that said I placed an order with my card for ($???) and if correct, just hang up or press 1 to talk to a rep. I pressed 1 and got a guy that could not speak very good english. He kept saying Amazin not Amazon and wanted my email for some reason. So I just hung up. I called again later and it was the same guy and he said: Amazin or Amazon customer support. I said I don't like this and I hung up. If this a spoof number or something. Why does not Amazon do something about this or at least get out a warning to all.

Amazon scam call says someone is trying to buy a gift card at walmart with a very heavy India ascent call him back and I messed with him wasted his time had fun.

Got a call from this number, had to listen 3 times to try and retrieve number,very broken english female, thought it was odd that they would be calling me, checked my account and no activity, but was a little concerned as i had an amazon order delivered today and the amounts were relatively close, reported to amazon    scam

What exactly do you think Amazon can do about scam calls? And have you checked their website to see if they've put out a warning?

They called telling me I've been chosen from a demographic survey to receive a grant from the government. They gave me 2 options to receive it - direct deposit or cash. I asked for cash and she told me to call this number. She also tried to verify my age and zip code.
