Recorded voice message advised to call back this number because the IRS will file a lawsuit against me and this is the last opportunity to stop it.

I just receive the same threatening message -- scammers

Same as TM above, but they said "IRS," not "The IRS," is filing the suit. Some people have no souls. The number that the call came from was (630) 690-2396. Googling reveals this to be a scammer's number also.

Received same message as above - stated they could not send a letter of the inquiry! Scam....

Received recorded message from this number saying the IRS was going to file a lawsuit against me and to call back immediately.  Scammers!

Received a phone call from a phone that showed up as "Payphone" (585)243-9768...a canned computer message stating "that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and that I needed to call (206)462-5501 immediately" was what I heard...I didn't call back but wanted people to know this was happening...and now I see all the other comments...scammers!!!

I received the same threatening message of an IRS lawsuit.  It came from phone number 631-363-9897.

Just got the call this am about a "Law suit" for IRS----just another scam like the others said

Received the same recorded message. When I called the number I spoke with a man that said he was Officer Peter Williams and he gave me an 11 digit Badge Number when I told him I needed to call the IRS and verify his information and then I would call him back he hung up.

Recieve a threatening phone call from a man who has a very heavy eastern middle accent stating he was a officer for the IRS stating that my deceased mother owed taxes for $2200 and that he will come to my home arrest me and lock me up if I don't send a money order today!!! This individual didn't want to provide an ID number or name. He threaten me numerous times.  

As you can see from the above posts, the caller is an offshore scammer.  Don't bother giving him the time of day.

Same thing from 845-469-9827.   Provided the 206-46205501 number to call immediately due to lawsuit/arrest.  I would love to stop these scammers as well.  Some may take it seriously and wonder....

I just got a call from +1 312-263-8166, my call log says it came from Illinois.  I listened to the voicemail since I never pick up for numbers I don't know and it said "The reason for this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  For more info about this lawsuit call 206-462-5501".  I also found it weird that it didn't say "The IRS", but just "IRS".  Anyway, I didn't bother calling obviously since my local news has been reporting on exactly this scam for a while now.  I hope nobody takes this seriously and does what they say.  These people are terrible.  For all we know they are financing terrorism across the world.

Claim to be IRS police notified it is a scam

I just had a call from 817-275-9369 telling me that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call 206-462-5501. Yeah right people!  I really just want to make their day and either go along with the scam giving them bogas info, or call them pretending to be an FBI agent and tell them they need to evacuate the area, but would I be stooping to their level at that point? What a waste of time. I really hope nobody's that gullible.

Same - had a call the day before stating IRS was freezing all my assets and someone would be in contact to start proceedings because I was in default of paying back past taxes.  Called the 800 # they left me but said I had to call between 8-4:30 Mon to Fri and they could not tell me anymore - person who answered would not even tell me their name.  I will be call THE REAL IRS on Monday and giving them any and all phone numbers I can.

Ridiculous...I asked why not us mail if real.. And asked for case number and would give me any information. This has to be stopped

I received a call this morning and got the same deal.  When I called 206-462-5501, the man said he was Gavin Johnson badge number 8N20050928.  He was very threatening and said the police would come arrest me and take my house, car, etc.  When I said I required written notification, he got angry and became more threatening. Wow.  These people are sick.
